Yes afaik they are randomly generated dragons along with scripted dragons, so given enough time you're bound to run into enough. You can usually tell scripted dragons as you're lvl 30 and you're still just fighting a normal or frost dragon instead of something like an ancient dragon. Just spend time using your horse to move across the map instead of fast travel i suppose.

Okay, its that time again. Time to play a mage that gains power and is corrupted by power and becomes a necromancer and seeks lichdom.
The Build Destruction - Well, an obvious choice. Main way to kill stuff. Probably with a sub spec in fire, at least adventially, since it is the most painful way to magically deal death and necromancers are kind of into that. Maybe I'll start with frost and transition into fire as the character is corrupted.
Conjuration - Clearly, as a necromancer, I will be raising and summoning the dead all the time. Lots of points here
Enchanting - This is what actually inspired all of this, killing people will fill a black soul gem. Think of how evil I, I mean my character, can become! (I don't know if you can create them like in oblivion. If you can't ill have to RP it then create them with the console, but I will have a collection of humanoid souls!). In addition, if my character is seeking absolute power, I need to be able to cast all my spells for 0 magicka.
Alteration - Since I am going pure mage, I will depend on alteration for the armor / damage mitigation. Whatever.
Illusion - Now this tree seems fun. End up with all the spells that inspire fear deep within the souls unfortunate enough to be in my path.
Restoration - Almost forgot this one. It has some importance. I do like to heal, so that is nice. It has the 50% magic regen, and importantly the perk that gives you mana back if you absorb a spell with ward. Ill have to take a few points here.
Details (stuff that actually makes these games interesting): First of all, the character goes from good to chaotic evil. Should be fun in general. Once I'm a necromancer, I will:
- Collect skulls, bones, bone meal, all that stuff
- Collect peoples souls and do stuff with the gems. (In Oblivion this included throwing the gem into the lava in Oblivion and then closing the gate, damming their soul forever to burning in oblivion)
- Living as a recluse in a cave (if I can find one with a safe chest (thanks for nothing not-yet-released creation kit)) and having a huge bounty in every town. Must find enchanting alters in caves.
- Going into towns, killing people and reanimating their corpses until there is a huge-ass battle in the middle of town.
- Running around in necromancer robes
- Whatever else seems appropriate for a necromancer to do that I can't think of right now.
The only question I have is, should I do it on expert or master?

I've played this game every day since it game out, and I haven't completed a single guild line, much less the main story line. Most of you are probably breezing your way through it instead of experiencing everything it has to offer in a paced fashion. That's probably why this game is immensely satisfying for me. The satisfaction doesn't come from beating it, imo.

Living in Japan, you cant buy Skyrim until next month so I decided to take the illegitimate way of playing this game. ( forgive me Elder Scroll gods! I paid for Oblivion!!)
Anyway you cant receive updates so I'll prob have to re-download every patch. Does this mean that I'll have to start a new game each version or are save files playable thru multiple versions?

And there is the handy dandy cleared label and music that play when you clear a dungeon.

Man seriously both the mages guild and companions lines are like 4 quests long + a bunch or randomly generated filler afterwards, no need to defend it.

Vilonis's post gave me an idea. Lets all write down a short summary of our current character or next one, or all of them! You can include whole story (like Vilonis), or just a build you are going for.
Just make sure to keep quoting the last post with this in the topic.
I wanted to finish the main quest and see the story, before going much deeper into RP and more interesting builds. So when i got the game i just chose random character from fiction and decided to build one according to him.
-Nord male -2 handed weapon -(some light archery when needed) -Light Armor -Restoration -Enchanting (fire weapon enchant)/Speech

Well, this should be fun. As someone who wanted to main necromancy I found it disappointing you could only have one zombie at a time unless you have the ritual stone ability.

I voted the war is stupid, I picked stormcloaks since I guess skyrim needs to belong to the nords. But the nords ( and Ulfric *COUGH*) are bitches themselves and insane racists aswell. Which I guess is alot more realistic than Nords being the good guys and Empire the bad guys. Still though I think I'll pick empire next playthrough.

anyone else think that the crafting skills are ridicuously good lol.
i just want to let you guys know that i am a spellblade or w/e i summon my swords/bows lvl 35 all my perks have gone into conjuration alteration and one handed, once these are full i will start to fill archery and speech. i dual wield and have permanent double flame atronachs following me around helping me clear out dungeons. when i vers a hard boss or a dragon i summon daemora lord, flame atronach and ebonyflesh and then swords/bow depending how often i can stay in melee range. my favorite shouts are the knockback and sprint ones. If i am versing 3+ enemies i like to use alterations paralyze. also another cute thing is that i can cast magelight which stick to w/e it hits so i like to put it onto my conjurations in dark dungeons so i got a folloing light source.
this game just keeps ofering me more and more. i love how much flexibility there is in your fighting techniques.
also recently my mate told me that you can avoid dragons breath by using etheral shout when you see the start of the animation. im not sure if i can tank dragons melee damage but i think its an awesome answer to any big spell damage you want to avoid.

Went for the Stormcloaks, not that I like them so much but, the Empire tried to chop my head off so fuck them
|
I chose the empire, im a dark elf, and nords are racist towards dark elves, so fuck em.
also, the empire brings business to skyrim, and the nords need business to prosper,
its not like the imperials are going full scale nazi on the place and trying to rule them, theyre just integrating, prospering, and policing skyrim, which has always been a part of their empire anyways, just like most of tamriel..
sure its a bit "american" of them to police someone elses nation but theyre hardly being unreasonable
the stormcloaks were just patriotic racists who would destroy their own people through barbaric and inefficient lifestyles imo.
and that was my though process when choosing a side ^,^
|
IMO... I'm a bit biased because I've played the other ES games and I know the Empire from those as less tyrannical than they are depicted early in Skyrim.
Although the Nords definitely have a point in revolting. that treaty with the Dominion is bullshit!

Not really, it's pretty much mirrored. Same three quests with the Jagged Crown, the digging up dirt and the wagon and killing forts.
Really disappointed with the quests as a whole. Taking Wildhelm was pretty annoying too. I'm playing on master and the respawning guards are so stupid. Having them appear from thin air was such a pain in the ass as there are a few tight spaces where there will be no movement. Every time I squeeze passed that and get a guy or two with me, the city guards would just keep spawning behind me and just delay that shit. In the end as I got near to the Jarl's place I just ran through the door.

I want to get a super powerful fear creature enchant going see how powerful I can make it (I think I can only get up to like fear lvl 30 creature for 30 seconds right now). You also have drain stamina (so you can just power attack your way to victory). Drain life I don't find strong enough (wow 8 hp a swing).

1s Soul trap is fantastic on your killing blow weapon. Infinite recharge for stealth character = 1s Soul Trap Dagger with like 200 charges and back stab everything. Even constantly using enchanted weapons, I have yet to run out of charges/soul gems!

I support the Stormcloaks, not out of any love for Ulfric or the "Nord only" types, but for everyone else wanting a leadership who'll stand up the Thalmar, and the fact that the Empire seems to have become fairly corrupt in the past 200 years. Even under Ulfric's rule I imagine when the Empire sorts is crap out, the Nord's will rejoin as a united Skyrim.
