Shearpoint. Go there.

I thought I was getting pretty invincible with Daedric armor / weapon, I let a dragon whack at me for about 10 minutes just so that I could practice restoration. But then I ran into a pair of Dremora mages (azura's star quest) that melt me in a about 5 seconds. Time to level up enchantment and get those magic resists I guess...

A bit late for this, my thoughts on Skyrim thus far. I'm level 42 or so, going for a Warrior sword / shield build.
Combat in general is pretty good. Once I got the sword and blocking perks (especially the one inducing slow-motion when you block a Power swing) fighting became a lot more fun. Getting into duels with a strong melee character can be so engaging.
Questlines are hit and miss. The Mage questline was awful, and the Stormcloaks one could have been so much more than "go here, kill Imperials. go here, kill more Imperials. repeat!" While the Companion quests were better, and random quests like the Daedra shrine ones are hilarious.
It's great how each city has its own unique atmosphere. I just finished most of the Markath stuff and liked the feel of that city, even though everyone there is a total dirtbag.
But, by far, the best part is the amount of random scripted content. I went to someone's house and dropped some junk from my inventory - they yelled at me for making a mess in their house.
What really bugs me though is having Lydia (or any Housecarl, really, I have one in Windhelm too) just sit in your house. When you walk in they give you generic messages like "I hope you aren't going to start any trouble" BITCH THIS IS MY HOUSE

So I decided in the first town ( I just got it today) that I would fry some chicken. Not a good idea...everyone started to kill me. I ran to whiteran then I died. wtf chicken also, is there any way to fix the mouse lag on skyrim?

anyone else like me and don't like using any followers? i don't like to adventure in a group, i like to be alone. and they always fuck everything up if you're sneaking around. oh let me go and back stab - follower: "WHO'S THERE LET ME KILL THEM" *mob turns around* FUUUUUUUU

Try this: How do I fix the vsync ("laggy mouse") problem? Go to your Steam Directory -> steamapps -> common -> skyrim -> Skyrim Create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file Open the file, then scroll down to where it says [Display] Add to the bottom of the section iPresentInterval=0 Save, exit, and play Taken from this thread

for the mouse lag, make sure you don't have Xbox/PS3 controller enabled, for some reason it comes with it enabled (goes to show they don't like PC players rofl).
so it makes the mouse move like you're playing the xbox/ps3 and its shitty.

i travel with lydia as a giant backpack and bear insurance on the overworld map, but i don't take her into dungeons
once i finally find some feather spells, i don't think i'll use followers anymore

is it possible to hotkey spells? like if i press 1 have it change to firebolt/frostbolt and if i press 2 firebolt/lightning bolt?

I'm just wondering, is there a way to see, or guess the amount of mana/stamina/hp someone has?
The situation I was in earlier, I was at the end of a quest where there is this really tough mage. I play a stealth archer with 1handed as a backup/assassination tool, and I have the pickpocket perk were you can place poisons. One thing I was think of was to give this mage a bunch of magicka poisons and a mackiga regen poison, since it seemed that I could never killed him straight with health poisons or dagger sneak attacks (I had no paralysis poisons at the time), question is, how many poisons do I give him. He could have 200 mana or 500.
If we say NPCs gain hp/stamina/mana in the same way as us along with the scaling system, the most he could of had was ~450 (100 starting, ~lvl35 gaining 10 mana per level) Can we assume this is accurate?

It is the stupid AI, stupid random comments they say and bad/bland personality ;p
I too ditched my companion pretty early, the AI is just SO bad...

So, I had just finished a trip to the East Empire Warehouse where I ''acquired'' some items which I then proceeded to exchange for gold at the local fence at Honningbrew Meadery and was on my way into Winterrun when something caught my eye: + Show Spoiler +

Open your favorites (default button is the Q key) and press the number you want to hotkey the skill to. You need to have the spell/item you want favorited.
Press the button twice to dual wield it. Dual wielding weapons doesn't work right now unless both items are exactly the same, not enchanted, and not sharpened, in which case it works but loses your hotkey. Kind of buggy.

Does anyone have any idea at all what a triangle next to an items name means ? I've played through the game twice and I have yet to have a single clue.

One thing that is bugging me is the one voice actor who is voicing like 50 different people in the game and he's not even trying to sound different. In every town, farm or inn I hear his voice and I get the urge to rip him apart.
