So am I completely out of luck? I will literally never be able to do this quest-line so long as I'm playing on the same character?

Also here is a nice little story from my adventures: + Show Spoiler + So i got the Wabbajack from the quest in Solitude. Used it a bit here and there and ended up stashing it in the chest at my house. Off questing like normal, then i come out of a dungeon and the Madwoman runs up to me telling me to use my Wabbajack on her. Since i didn't have it on me I decided to fast travel and get it to see if she was there when i got back, sadly she wasn't. So i decided to mess around with it a bit more. Ended up using it on a Mammoth and he turned into the most terrifying thing possible! Sure you may be thinking a cute little rabbit or a chicken or a goat, Nope. Out pops a Dremora Markyaz. Here's the catch, he's invincible. I've tried everything in my power to kill him. Tried Banishing him (with both spells you can get) Tried Commanding him Tried Fearing, Freezing and Fighting him. Tried using the Wabbajack again on him. (no effect) Sat there for ~30mins summoning Deadric Lord(x2) to keep beating on him while i casted any and every spell i had on him. Even tried using Conjured weapons. Not a single sliver of life gone. So i broke down finally and decided he's not gonna die conventionally. So i open up the command console, click on him, type in "kill" and hit enter. What happened you ask? NOTHING, he kept running at me trying to cut my head off. So i think maybe i did something wrong. I target one of my minions and do the same to him, he dies. So now i have an invincible (to everything) Dremora Markyaz running around my game. Oh and he doesn't despawn, I've fast traveled, slept and waited a ton since I spawned him and he's still there. Moral of the story : Be careful, cuz Sheogorath is cruel.

This is on 360 so no steam counter. But I have no lifed it quite hard since it happens to be offseason so I am just chilling in my apartment by myself. Would have just been starcraft otherwise lol.

Farthest I traveled was like whiterun to rorikstead. But it's cool if you just don't like rpg tho. Lots of my friends are like that. There are games/genres I hate myself. (cough... CoD cough...) I personally play rpg as like a movie/tv substitute. See pretty graphics and nice story that you get to participate in. I usually love the more linear ones but Skyrim manages to have sick quests/story/graphics while being so open and expansive. Anyone know if there is level cap? There must be since there is only so many skill to level but I was curious if there was artificial cap before that? Guessing 50 From the Elder Scrolls Wikia The game will have a level cap of 50 however game director Todd Howard stated that the games "mathematical" level cap is 70 Although i've seen elsewhere that its 80-81, note sure yet.

Broke my heart giving up on my lvl 34 juggernaught, but don't see how this can be fixed until they either patch in a console command to start a quest fresh, without ever having it, or someone mods it in. I'm all ears for anyone knowing what to do though. Another thing helping would be able to look at the entire list of console commands my searches give, but the console window is too damn small and has no scroll. So am I completely out of luck? I will literally never be able to do this quest-line so long as I'm playing on the same character? Edit: I think the SetStage command is supposed to do this, but it does not work for some reason (only managed to mess up the previous quest with it, got it uncompleted with all objectives complete lol). Edit2: Hm found a command in Oblivion that may do the trick (but also have some stupid consequences if I understand the description). StartAllQuests or saq. Though it might work, it might also then give you every quest ingame? Hmm, can't test myself as I'm off to bed!

I started out 2H but transitioned to 1h + shield / sometimes dual weild - to me, the shield (with bash, which I think is a pretty cool addition) adds another dimension to melee combat. Lower DPS, sure, but more survivability and variety.

Guessing 50 progression begins to plateau around 50+, but the actual hard cap is in the low 80s due to a limit on how far you can get by capping every skill to 100.

It's the exact same reason why I don't like turning up the difficulty in Oblivion/Fallout/Skyrim either, because it doesn't really make it take much more skill, it just makes it take longer (and cost more if you're spamming potions) because enemies take 1000 slashes to kill instead of 10 and you have to take time out to avoid attacks/heal up and stuff. I also can't imagine the game being fun when you're an all-powerful person and just kill everyone (either with god mode and flying like you did, or with the hundreds of "epic loot" drops you get throughout the game). The way I've found that I can enjoy this game the most is to set restrictions on myself to make it more challenging, and maybe it could help you enjoy it more too. Stuff like you're only allowed to carry a realistic, X small amount of items/weapons and nothing more (so if you find a bunch of crap in a dungeon or something, you can only carry 1 or 2 things out maybe), or you aren't allowed to use health potions/restoration magic, or if your character dies you have to start a new one. The most fun I've had with every Bethesda game I've played is having at least some self imposed restrictions to make the game more of a challenge without actually turning up the difficulty, because I agree, hitting a dude 500 times for half an hour isn't my idea of a fun, "epic" battle. The most entertaining part of the game for me personally as well is just doing quests, rather than grinding out dungeon after dungeon which it seems like a lot of people like to do. I do like exploring quite a lot also, but sometimes I'll totally ignore dungeons, dragons, or other enemies if I don't really want to do them at the time. I feel like grinding out every single thing I come across would make the game boring for me. Anyway, there's quite a lot to do in the game so hopefully if you just experiment some more you can find something that's more entertaining for you. Can totally understand how you feel though. Yep, i feel like this about this game as well, i never played Oblivion before, but i did play Fallout 3, and combat is rather boring, and if you try to get it more difficult it just becomes more boring. So you must set limits to youself in order to enjoy the combat in this game, even in master difficulty its feels just too simple regardless of the article about how good and smart combat would be. I feel like Dragon Age 2 or Witcher 2 got combat in the right place, specially Witcher 2. I feel like the true power of Skyrim is your freedom to do whatever you want, it made me so happy just go there and start doing whatever i wanted at that moment. The universe is fantastic and dialogues are smart when needed and even somehow philosophical. Sadly, i wont be able to finish this game for now because of the bug where quests of the Stormcloaks is denying the main quest, so sad story here, and i dont think i will start a new character because i did play around 50 hours.

Its possible your hardware is unplayable so 360 would be better, nobody wants to play a game at 10 fps, but yes, PC is far far superior to the consoles for this game.
