I was just wondering, is this game worth buying even though you havn't played previous games in the Elder Scrolls series? I've played WoW for 3 years and liked it alot, I played mostly PvP though. I'd personally say it's absolutely worth buying. I had only palyed Oblivion (the game that came out right before this) but there's very little collusion amongst the game titles. I don't know the storylines from first 3 Elder Scroll games or anything but that hasn't stopped me from understanding how Skyrim is going That's exactly what I meant in my post above. In fact, I as a person who played Morrowind, find cool collusions like once per hour. Someone who didn't play it will just enjoy it anyway 'cause all that stuff is where it's nothing huge. <3 Bethesda. (LOL I JUST REALIZED THERES A SONG FROM MORROWIND IN SKYRIM. That might be the reason I feel reminded of it all the time. >_<)
And that's one of the reasons everyone is saying Skyrim has such a great sound track. The new music is great also, but the morrowind music was so atmospheric in the right way.
Edit: And no music from oblivion? hear, hear.

had the same problems with arrows yesterday... normally they should disappear after a few seconds
try to get hit by another one, that worked for me with the arrows

Anyone know where there's alot of animals to kill? I'm levelling up my smithing and enchanting by mass producing iron daggers and enchanting them using petty soulgems. I can make quite a profit by using empty soulgems and refilling them myself, but I kind of find it hard to find stuff that's suitable for petty soul gems. I can find the odd wolfpack or crabs when I'm roaming about, but that's pretty much it. I'd rather not use the lesser ones since they do cost quite a bit even when empty. Also anyone know when enemy npcs respawn?

I found a solution for this after having arrows stick out of my ass for weeks!
Go to console (~), and type: sexchange (yes I'm serious -_-). The random stuff poking out of your body will go away. Then type sexchange again. Close the console. Voila.

I just want to throw it out there that there are some very strong enchantments out there. I actually am thinking about getting that skill to 100 and then just roflstomp everything with 4 spells on dual swords or something ^.^ also upgrading armor and swords is very very strong O.o

Also i've been living up my crafting i notice as soon as i unlock say dwarven merchants still selling me dwarven shit ionno if that's just a happen stance of me leveling along with my crafting or not

At the moment I can enchant 1% resists, and stuff like that. It's poor at lower levels of enchanting.
Also, wtf is this soul gem thing. Can I fill a gem without using one of those specific weapons? I don't want to be carrying an entire arsenal around with me all the time.

I was just wondering, is this game worth buying even though you havn't played previous games in the Elder Scrolls series? I've played WoW for 3 years and liked it alot, I played mostly PvP though. I think the biggest part is about the atmosphere and exploring a huge world where anything can happen.. So it's probably similair to the romantic side of WoW. If that used to interest you then I would really recommend this amazing game. If you care about competitive play and not much about the scenery then no. Guys what's a good difficulty grade? I am playing on adept now and I notice while giants one shot my level 10 dual wield khajit I can kill dragons without trouble I would love for dragons to be like boss fights. Encountering one is so awesome and when you can just chop them in pieces and heal through their air attacks they're pretty easy. And I have a quest(ion) + Show Spoiler +I need to get on top of the mountain at Whiterun to check out the greybeards I've tried everywhere to get up but I always fail to find the entrance to the top. Like I walk ages and then I check my map and I am still on the foot of the mountain. + Show Spoiler + You have to go from Whiterun to Alvarstead, where you will find the 7000 stairs you have to climb to get to High Hrothgar. That seems to be the only way. I took the scenic route myself the first time around.
Going all the way to Alvarstead is really worth it if you're into beautiful areas. You'll get to see a lot of vistas.

Its soul will infuse an empty soul gem when you've killed it so you'll always have to carry some soulgems around if you're using enchanted weapons.

This game is mindblowing.
I joined the thieves guild and im doing the questchain for them. Awesome! If someone decides to not join the guild he will miss like 5-10 hours of perfect quests...and not just random quests. Real story with scripted events etc. And of course Nightingale Armor:

Has anyone tried asking innkeepers repeatedly for work? I took 3 bounties from the innkeeper in whiterun/riverwood (same jarl). You're supposed to have infinite quests this way but they're not offering more work.

What's the best way to get new empty soul gems? I have a handy sword that adds the souls of enemies to soul gems in my inventory when I kill them, but I don't have any soul gems to put the souls in =(

I would NOT recommend this chain if you are not a thief/assassin though. As a warrior/mage, it will be nigh impossible to do properly. Let alone at all.
+ Show Spoiler [Spoilers for the end] +What power did you take? I took the life force stealing one, holy crap this is like a second dragon shout. It's so damn good. I can see how you'd like the invisibility one too, however. The mind control one is shit.

You have to wait for the guys you killed to respawn, then they will give you quests to clear areas again.

I try not to join all the possible factions through first play. Having my dual wielding nord join a brotherhood just breaks the immersion, at least for me. I'll leave that for my second playthrough.
Right now I'm doing Companions quest, and will probably join Imperials. Won't start any mage/thief quests.
Also, just became a werewolf. And smithing is really powerful, I'm wearing all the superior items right now, with my two handed sword landing 57 damage. Soon enough I'll start making orcish weapons.

On the same spirit, can a rogue/assasin do the mage/bard guilds storylines? I want to start them with my archer.

I buy them from the mage's college and around towns but they generally don't have very many at a time. I'd like to know if there was a better way too such as crafting them or a vendor that sells 100 at a time or a dungeon that has a lot of them.

Did I do wrong when I went with heavy armor fighter on the highest difficulty? I'm starting to think armor is useless when anything still kills me in 2-3 shots. I have a full dwarf set 1/3rd of the heavy armor perks and what not.
Seems to me like a really badly designed highest difficulty. Or then fighters are just underpowered.
