I was just wondering, is this game worth buying even though you havn't played previous games in the Elder Scrolls series? I've played WoW for 3 years and liked it alot, I played mostly PvP though. I'd personally say it's absolutely worth buying. I had only palyed Oblivion (the game that came out right before this) but there's very little collusion amongst the game titles. I don't know the storylines from first 3 Elder Scroll games or anything but that hasn't stopped me from understanding how Skyrim is going

While the experience for me (someone who nerded like 2 years in Morrowind and Addons) is enhanced (like, you meet people connected to Morrowind and hear their stories, you read books on the history about what happened before Skyrim etc.) ... my gf who never knew anything about the Elder Scrolls before has fun as well since Skyrim tells the background in small bits. Elder Scrolls has a HUGE history/background (it was like 500 A4 pages pure text in BOOKS ONLY in Morrowind iirc?), but it's pretty close to real history in the fact that you don't have to know all of it to do your daily tasks. If you REALLY want to dive into TES history, check this: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Lore Note that this "short story" actually starts around 3E (meaning third era, afaik at least 2E is completely documented, too) and does NOT include any of the events that happenend in Morrowind. Haha, that is the exact same "specc" I'm doing too. Just got to level 12 and I also just did the trials with the Graybeards. Funny. ^_^ Oh and slow playthrough ftw! This game will take forever to finish, yey!

to cure my werewolf. i got back from the witches and the dude was dead and the guy approached me and did not give me a next quest what can i do? edit: also, don't save everytime, just quick save (f5) before/after you do something. example) quick save right before opening a chest/picking a lock and re-load if you lose too many picks.

I think the biggest part is about the atmosphere and exploring a huge world where anything can happen.. So it's probably similair to the romantic side of WoW. If that used to interest you then I would really recommend this amazing game. If you care about competitive play and not much about the scenery then no. Guys what's a good difficulty grade? I am playing on adept now and I notice while giants one shot my level 10 dual wield khajit I can kill dragons without trouble I would love for dragons to be like boss fights. Encountering one is so awesome and when you can just chop them in pieces and heal through their air attacks they're pretty easy. And I have a quest(ion)+ Show Spoiler + I need to get on top of the mountain at Whiterun to check out the greybeards I've tried everywhere to get up but I always fail to find the entrance to the top. Like I walk ages and then I check my map and I am still on the foot of the mountain.

In fact, I as a person who played Morrowind, find cool collusions like once per hour. Someone who didn't play it will just enjoy it anyway 'cause all that stuff is where it's nothing huge. <3 Bethesda. (LOL I JUST REALIZED THERES A SONG FROM MORROWIND IN SKYRIM. That might be the reason I feel reminded of it all the time. >_<)

You have to cross a bridge to get to the start of the stairs. Wasted a lot of time finding that one as well -.-.

Dragon fights are tough as fuck but doable and Giants.. well... let's say after a few tries I run whenever they show up. =D + Show Spoiler + You should have followed the direction you got. The quest sends you to Ivarstead first, from there you can walk up the "7000 steps" straight up to the greybeards. They start at the bottom of a bridge from Ivarstead towards the Mountain, crossing the river there.

forsworn quest chain, I can safely say this game is awesome as fuck. However, when the forsworn are escaping or whatever, a bunch of guards aggroed me, and I killed all of them :p, is there any way I can get back into the city without killing everyone? T_T

The Vampire curing quest seems bugged, not sure if the thread has addressed it already but Falien just shows up and does nothing then walks away. Talking to him doesn't help anything and I always feed a day or two before attempting it so blood-hunger doesn't make him distrust me. You can return to the city to trigger the guards to ask you to pay your bounty/go to prison/fight them at any time I think.

First performance mods out: Skyrim Better Performance - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=123 First uber HQ stuff is out, too: EGC - Enhanced Graphics Center - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11 Beautiful Skyrim - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=120 HQ Texture Pack Whiterun WIP - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=114 Enhanced Night Skyrim - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=85 - this one is awesome! =) ------------ Also I don't know why people bitch about performance. With my duo core E6600 @ 2.4, GTS250 and 4gig ram I run the whole thing on Ultra @ 1900x1200 (sadly 2560x1600 is a little bit too much =D) with toned down AA/AF and it runs at 30+ frames pretty constantly. I have however some loading lags here and there since my CPU can't keep up. =(
