As a starter, would Skyrim be a good choice? Also, my computer has just over the minimum specs, is this game worth playing on low settings? Ty in advance If you can run it on low graphics but with a nice stable framerate (i.e. between 40-60) I would definitely go for it. I play on PS3 and from the screenshots i've seen of Ultra/Max PC graphics, the consoles graphics are probably equivalent to low/medium on PC. It's completely fine though, after a while you don't tend to notice/care about the graphics because you are so immersed into the gameplay! Yeah I agree. I had to lower AA and Anistrophic Filtering by 4x (from full) both to achieve something like 45 AVG FPS, and changing between 40 and 60 on Ultra High Quality, 1920x1080 with a Radeon 6950, i3-2100k and 4GB DDR3,whereas I can play Witcher 2 and DA2 on full settings without any problem (both look great and nicely optimized compared to Skyrim as far as I can see) Skyrim is one of those games (along with Deus Ex HR) that from a technical viewpoint, the graphics are not mind blowing, but overall, their contribution to the game's atmosphere and how nicely they fit in with what the game tries to achieve, is brilliant. Face animations are really important for me and they are overall well done in this game, that's a plus for me. I have yet to see games that offer superb environment graphics (trees, foilage, plants etc) so I don't care that much about that, although the blizzard and snowy effects look great.
But if you play on low turn actor fade up to 5 at least you will never have fun being an archer lol I took an hour losing to + Show Spoiler + at level 10. Turned the actor fade up to 5 and finished it in 5 patient arrow shooting minutes.

I have also killed like 6 dragons so far, but I still only have the first Shout unlocked (the one after you kill the Whiterun dragon). In order to use a Dragon Soul, do I have to Shout right after I kill the dragon or do I keep the dragon soul and can unlock the other Shouts that I found anytime?
I hope you get my point... Dragon Souls are not actual items right? Because right now I should have some saved up but I can't equip any other Shouts, it tells me I need Dragon Souls.
God I'm horrible at describing this shit lol.

How many clicks you hear? Turning it to the left or right? Conserving lock picks? Anyone? lol :p You just need to release the button as fast as possible once the pick starts to shake around. I judge the general area by how much the lock shakes when I tap it in various locations, then it's really just about letting go once the pick shakes. On expert locks or more, you'll break some picks anyways, but there are enough around. I always turn right, so I don't think the direction matters. Also, afaik the right spot doesn't change between saves, so you could always just save and relaod if you think you broke too many picks. (lockpick perks help a bit too, but aren't that useful)
I'm pretty sure that the right spot does change between saves. Could be wrong, in any case thanks for the tips. Sounds good so I'll be doing this more in my lock picking adventures. cheers mate

Also note that you should get to the 4 old guys on top of the mountain as soon as possible. The guy who speaks to you (don't remember his name right now) will always be able to tell you the next location to a new shout (I think he gives you random ones that you haven't discovered yet as well). You ask him something like "Have you learned about the location of a new shout?" or something and he says "I've heard whispers in the wind" then he marks the location on your map and you get a miscellaneous quest that tells you to go to xy and get the shout.

If you completed the Dark Brotherhood storyline(btw,AWESOME WTF), + Show Spoiler +you are now in a position where you get generic quests from the Night Mother. You can actually hit with your weapon/spell your quest givers and they just dont die. Easy way to level up your skills.

This game is mind blowing. The amount of detail they have put into everything is insane. Massive amounts of quests with always having something to do while having endless freedom also. I was so hyped for this game and so far its living up to it. Easily the GOTY for me.

Ok, so i gave in to the hype And i am installing skyrim tonight.
What i was wondering is, what are play styles in the game ? 1h + shield, dw, 2h, bow, spellcaster.... From what i understand, spell caster can "mix" spells from both hands...but is there something like...elementar ranger type, with fire arrows etc, or are you stuck with physical stuff? Same goes for melee . I mean, can you combine spells with weapons?

As far as I know you cant enchant your sword with fire but you can equip a sword in one hand and have a flame spell in your other hand.

Jeez, just hopped on to start playing today... noticed that on the PS3, the save game files tell you how long you've been playing. I'm at 24 hours exactly O-O, I thought it was more like 15 rofl. Just goes to show. I've always been "slow" at RPG games preffering to explore/complete side quests instead of just rushing through the main story, but damn... I think I might set a world record for the slowest playthrough!
Incase anyone was interested in comparing to their save:
+ Show Spoiler + - Level 13 Nord, playing 1h+shield style. - Just done the trials with the Graybeards. - Playing on the default difficulty.

Hello guys! I've watched some streams and Day[9] Skyrim stream and it looked very cool.
I was just wondering, is this game worth buying even though you havn't played previous games in the Elder Scrolls series? I've played WoW for 3 years and liked it alot, I played mostly PvP though.
