People that were mad about the ending are still going to be mad apparently. And people that were not ecstatic but content (like myself) will enjoy the little things and "wrap up" it includes. No it's not much, but it certainly filled in a few holes. It's basically what the ending should have included all along, and I don't think they've ever billed it as any more than that. I'm way more confused about why this DLC was 1.8GB than I ever will be about this ending lol

If you don't like + Show Spoiler + star kid The new scene + Show Spoiler + showing the escape of the crew + Show Spoiler + The scene with escape dont make any sense tho, why is harbinger just leaving the normandy alone lol

These extended cuts don't address a whole bunch of issues (like the whole sequence from Shepard getting hit by Harbinger to the Starchild) but god damn it I get some fucking CLOSURE. DELICIOUS CLOSURE. It's all I wanted. I know what happened to my allies, I know that the fleet on earth didn't tear itself apart on a barren planet, I get to see the races I helped getting back on their feet and rebuilding. I like it a lot, basically. People who still hate it...why? What were you expecting? EDIT: I hate to harp on, but I genuinely don't get why people would still hate it. I thought we all despised the original ending just because it didn't tell you shit?

The choices were meaningless because we could only speculate about their consequences. I thought we all despised the original ending just because it didn't tell you shit? As I said myself, some people were predetermined to dislike it simply because of their feelings about the original ending and remaining overly critical. It was refreshing to read a post like yours, good to know there's folks out there who strongly disliked the original ending but did embrace the DLC. On a slightly off-topic (re: DLC) and awesome note, I stumbled on this while browsing the Bioware forums today waiting for DLC launch: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/8779677/1 Fan-made "remix" style album of some big tracks from the series. It's called Metal Effect, and that's the emphasis I suppose, but it's surprisingly diverse and incredibly well made. Greatly exceeded any expectations I had; so happy I was lucky enough to bump into that thread in the sea of Locks lol.

I happily have picked the refusal ending as my ME final ending. We fight the good fight and come up short. I can respect that at least. EDIT: also when that kid says "so be it!" in the refusal option is that harbingers voice?

I think most people hated it because you have 3(4) choices that throw away everything else you've done previously in the series. But I guess the Bioware storytelling illusion just didn't work in this game.

The real issue with ME3 endings were about the Reapers themselves. BW made Reapers so ridiculously powerful that conventional technology wasn't useful against them, neither weaponry or computers. So if they couldn't be defeated through already known means...there had to be a deus ex machina; and we got the Crucible. That is for me, the worst part about the endings. Because BW made them so ridiculously OP, there had to be something external and somehow related to the Reapers (because regular tech is not useful against them) that would have a role in how the event plays out. Here is my take on what I'd do with the endings: + Show Spoiler + The Star Child would be the collective knowledge of all the previous civilizations packed into one, super intelligent and smart AI. The plan with the Crucible would be to eventually create a strong enough AI to actually stop Reapers by controlling them or ordering them away. Before the extinction the civs would make sure the data is safe and accessible when the time comes. With each wipeout, the processing power of the AI would increase but unless a conscious being interacted with one of the beacons, it wouldn't reach self-awareness (that's where Shep would come in with ME1) I think this would be pretty interesting imo.
