But with this loss it is official, the Lakers will win it all again this year! LA QQ'ers are going to be on their asses the rest of the way after this. ![]() 30-20 and no effort? Kobe just shoots them out of games some times, and its mid season defense without one of their main wing defenders..

Besides I wasn't really saying just this game but last few games. Gasol's effort problem has mostly been on defense and rebounding by the way, not to say it is all on him, but that is where Lakers have been lacking. Barnes coming back will be a plus definitely. I wasn't trying to say it was a bad loss...I was mostly saying they aren't running full throttle. Regardless, most fans here in LA all exaggerate losses like this and won't let them off the hook. As for me, it made me feel much better about the playoffs for them, as ridiculous as that sounds.

Gasol should have more shot attempts, and Bynum+Gasol+Odom should have twice as many as Kobe combined.

Gasol should have more shot attempts, and Bynum+Gasol+Odom should have twice as many as Kobe combined. So true, but at the same time people pay to just see Kobe play. Winning is important, but not as important as Kobe getting hot and tearing it up. Lakers all about that $$$$$

How you do guys following shitty teams cope towards the end of the year when your team is basically gone. It sucks =/ And the Bucks don't even have any great young talent to look forward to. Stuck with Salmons, Maggette and Gooden for at least 3 more years...

Eh, there was a really good article on usage rates at the Lakers blog Silver Screen and Roll on the Celtics-Lakers game, but personally I feel it's more like neither Duncan or Nash play in a complicated system like Jackson's/Winter's triangle and their personnel aren't comfortable with it most of the time (still). I remember reading SSnR last year during the playoffs where they commented outside of Kobe, Pau, and sometimes Fisher, the rest of the Lakers were lost as fuck when it came to running it (aka they're too dumb). That does seem very true though at the time and the ball just seems more often than not end up in Kobe's hands and the rest of team seem perfectly content with that.

Except for the first quarter, the lakers offense doesn't look much like the triangle. When the starters sub out, the remaining starter usually just plays isolations or pick and rolls, occasionally dishing it to an open man. In the 4th quarter near the end, they tend to abandon the triangle and let Kobe shoot. If it were a triangle, almost all the sets should start and reset with passing it to Gasol in the post. When it's Kobe leaning over with the ball on the perimeter, it's not the triangle.

I think there's plenty of evidence that a box score doesn't show everything about a player's performance. As for RJ, he's playing a lot better this season than last, and it's pretty clear if you watched him play then and now. His offense comes a lot easier than it did, and he just looks a lot more comfortable overall. For what's it's worth statistics-wise, his eFG%, TS%, and Ortg are all up significantly this season from last, while his Usage has gone down. That's consistent with what I observed of RJ with the Spurs in that he was a player who was used to having the ball in his hands and being a significant part of the offense, while what the Spurs needed, and what he is now, is a role player who plays solid defense and who can provide efficient offense to keep defenses honest and provide spacing for Parker, Manu and Duncan.

Now he has the 7th best eFG% in the nba, 11th TS%, the only shooters ahead of him are Ray Allen, Landry Fields, and Afflalo.
