WTF. I thought updating my NIC drivers fixed this, but apparently it just turns it into a stealth killing of server, where I can play perfectly fine and then theres some sort of ninja assassin that just breaks her neck. | ||

Biomes. They’re not final yet, but this is about how they will be in the Halloween update. Monster spawning and terrain features can be tied to individual biomes, so some biomes could get special trees, or special mobs, or different grass, to make them all more unique. Imo they are waaaay too small. | ||

I thought the border addon (though maybe another) basically let you despawn any chunks outside the radius, so you could select a number a bit larger than the old radius, to account for legit exploring (I found a zombie spawner less than ten blocks outside the border before, so checked it + the cave out after the limit was removed) which should theoretically allow Serejai to clear most of that straight line exploring. Not sure what the limits of the addon are, though. People have put a ton of work into the current server, so it'd be kinda be sad to have a reset. Depending on how much SMP is updated though, and how much is inaccessible without a reset it may be worth it. | ||

As Vortok said above, I would also think it a real shame to remove the current work and have a new map. Perhaps we can shift the spawn or something instead and start a new area whist retaining the old work. Sure Serejai will think of something, he's smart like that.... | ||

Im all for a new beginning, much like last time, but id like to hope that perhaps Serejai will set out some building codes for the next installment of the server. (for example, a block distance required between dwellings) and as such, call this next installment of the server permanent. | ||

1) I enjoy the start the most, when resources are scarce and houses are made of wood and cobble instead of huge obsidian skyscrapers. 2) If Notch fixed some of the huge bugs in SMP, like duping, health, item durability, diamonds will for once have value other than as building blocks (also making diamond blocks a luxury, not just something you'll get with time). In-game currency will be used to buy and sell these scarce resources, instead of just gambling  . Our server already has a bunch of duped stuff all around the world, the patch won't get rid of it.3) If we were to do something like move the spawn and make the world a two-in-one, I'm sure it'll contribute to lag. 4) This might apply only to me, but I didn't find it hard to lose my creations going from the first server to this one.
