The mechanic does stack though, so multiple Battalion guys attack is pretty cool, but they really make you work for it. Lingering Souls says, hi. :p

The mechanic is effective with cards like Lingering Souls but it needs to be more aggressive than the preview card. Something like a 1 drop that +2 battlecries or something. Dunno.

I think you can turn 3 her, and then maybe go turn 4, swing with her plus mana dorks, and pop a blocker or other annoying thing. Heck, even going to the face with her won't be bad. Hell, she deals with the front end of a Thragtusk without it blocking her. The Naya Ramp deck I'm looking to build keeps looking better and better the more Gatecrash cards we see spoiled...

Add in Selesnya's "Populate" ability and suddenly you can trigger this "Battalion" ability with ease.

In terms of raw power, Sublime is better. But if put into the right deck, she can synergize quite well with the other pieces. That's why I suggested Naya for her; that archetype generally likes winning through massive attacks, and she can force through damage on certain things too.

She is slightly better in the exact mirror, not every aggro match up since Sublime's effect is more in line for that as you can pop someone for a lot with 1 creature while leaving others back as blockers (probably worth more than the 3 life you gain). Edit: This just feels like another limited bomb since you're much more likely to have a board full of creatures. Edit 2: As for the populate mechanic, that is next to non-existent in standard, so I wouldn't be banking on a deck that relies on you dumping your hand still.

So far all of the mechanics (save maybe Bloodrush) are looking pretty flavorful, which I like.

Yes, that's the point, you can nug them for 3 through a million chump blockers or force them to have an extra creature to kill it. And pretty much every Jund list I've seen and some of the older zombie lists have Nighthawk in the 75, usually the sideboard. Extort looks meh. Hopefully the cards its on make it more interesting.
