My friend drafted a really sick UW cube deck.

try out the planeswalker game, it's a lot of fun and a good way to get a taste of magic again if you haven't played/haven't played in a while. the actual magic online client is more comprehensive and has almost all the cards that have been printed with competitive aspects, but it isn't very user friendly and is in fact very newbie-unfriendly.

try out duels of the planeswalkers from steam and see how you feel about it. if it leaves you wanting for more, try going to a friday night magic or playing with your friends in paper before delving into magic online.

Now if they made Kamigawa the next set after Ravnica, except better this time, we would be set.

In that game you get only preconstructed decks you can choose from. You unlock extra cards that you can add/swap in as you win with the deck. There's DLC that adds more decks in that's not free, but you get all the starting decks free.

I want to play in your world of standard where I can spend 4 mana to blink a Snapcaster Mage to spend a 2 mana (or 1 mana) spell consistently from my graveyard. Through Vapor Snags, Mana Leaks, etc. Unless they print something to hose the Delver builds and Lingering Souls, that card will not see too much play unless there is some super creature you really want to hit.

I am not sure about older and bigger formats though, but 4 mana is like near the limit of what you can play for most decks. As in you better have some good effects.

If the format slows down, I was never unhappy blinking a Solemn with Venser. Who can know? We might get a nice Wall of Omens type or, like you said, if they reprint Angel of Despair and you're in the late game?

That's a bit ambitious....Still, it's fun to play around with it.

Until you realize you never get your combo. Venser decks were good because of the Luminarch Ascension versus JaceTMS. Angel of Despair doesn't work with this Restoration Angel.

=/ Venser was good because of Bant Pod mostly, not the UW shell. Wall of Omens, Sea Gate Oracle, Solemn, Acidic Slime, Stonehorn Dignitary, Razer Hippogriff, Titans, Metamorphs were all the real reasons I ran Venser. I can't tell you how many times I would win without birthing pod because of the Venser/Sea Gate or Venser/Wall combo to fish up lands and elesh norn/Wurmcoil/Titan

If you buy the Gold edition which is on sale for $7 on steam atm, you get all the decks. There isn't many options when it omes to customizing decks really. They're all preconstructed and as you unlock new cards you can switch up to 20 of them out, but in the end it's the same deck. There's 20 or so decks to choose from I think, so it's not too bad, and it's much cheaper than buying the real cards, by far.

Idk if those are real or not, possible, but Miracle seems like an awful mechanic to play against. The red one seems balanced i guess, but if people aren't manipulating their libraries, just hoping to draw them, say in limited then its just gonna be upsetting when they get their "out".

If someone is casting noxious revival or ponder to set up next turn and its not completely random, then thats fine by me.

Timewalk miracle is sorcery, so you can keep your panties unbunched. Assuming it still has to obey casting timings which by all things printed should mean it is.

What do you mean by this? It at the very least needs to be able to be cast during the draw step (despite being a sorcery) or the Miracle ability does nothing at all.
Zero fighting.

I am not a fan of the new mechanics, I would rather abuse the graveyard/undying then lucky draws and easy two for ones. Any decent instant speed removal will just trash soulbound creatures.

This article has some explanations for the mechanics:
http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/190a

I'm not sure if you can cast a Sorcery Miracle if you draw it during your opponents turn.

"You're allowed to cast the first card you draw each turn if it has miracle, so if you find ways to draw cards during your opponent's turn, you get another chance for a game-breaking, miraculous moment."

a 4/3 flier for 2B at uncommon? Unless the format is at least as aggressive as the current drafts, I can't see that being beat.
zzz i need to read cards. Still, how likely is a ponder + noxious revival + other ways to set up the new timewalk deck going to work?
I can already see the ending

Temporal Mastery is going to be banned in Legacy, there's no way they are going to let that slide. Especially in UW Stoneblade, 4 Brainstorms, alongside 4 Snaps, and of course JTMS.

And of course there's Personal Tutor.
