Whatever. I don't play solo anyway, so I guess I should be fine like this even for BG1. I'm not going to restart again. Well you know... that's D&D for you - "Hey i need to reroll the dice. I'm a warrior ! I can't have 10 in STR !!!!" - "Well why do you roll the dice ? Put 18 STR already..." - "That would be cheating. Let's say i can roll the dice 10 time and pick the highest number !" - "Okay but that's not the point of a dice roll you know" - "i don't wanna play a weak character" - "Ok roll your dice" *dice rolls. Highest was 17* - "Well i'll substract one wisdom" - "It's not allowed so if you want to do it do it but that's cheating" Hello Warrior. You have 18STR,18CON,18INT,18CHA 18 EVERYTHING ! - "No i'm an elf. I have 19DEX" - "So you have 17CON" - "No because of my past as a 250cm elve i live in the forest and that enhanced my CON" - "Elves are really small in D&D" - "NO I'M TALL. FUCK THE DICE". True Story. This is why point buy exists.

That is why DMs exist, to stop this shit at the start.

Bumping this since recently I been doing a Kensai dual classed Thief run and got the use any item ability and man I don't know why no one talks about this dual class for solo runs. The hillrious backstabs with kai plus having armor is great to cover up the kensai problems :D

Because Kensai/Mage is stronger. But any Kensai dual class is good as Kensai is best fighter subclass.

Hi guys! I have a little problem with Baldurs Gate (I) Enhanced Edtion. I`ve done the mines and should go to the major of Neshkal to get my reward. The thing is; it looks like i have a bounty on my head and the city watch is attacking me as soon as i get into the town. I tried to go into that area from different angles but it doesn`t work. If i kill them, all except one party members will leave me. Google doesn`t help, or i`m doing it wronk!
Maybe someone of you can help me out? Can i get rid of that bounty or are the NPC party members expandable? It starts to anoy me a little, because i have the feel, that i really in the need of that reward to avoid a lot of grinding.

What's your reputation? (Found on the character sheet screen) If it's below a certain value guards attack you on sight. You could go to the temple east of Beregost and donate some cash to get it back up a few points without killing anyone if that's the issue.

That is the issue! Thanks! I´ll test it as soon as my gf is releasing my laptop

Just bought BGII, though the pathing in this game is annoying I'll try to overlook it since it's an old ass game :D

Did you buy The enhanced edition? If not you need to manually increase the 'pathing nodes' to max in config to make it suck less. If you bought ee, yeah it still sucks In narrow dungeons (of which there are many)

Nope, heard EE has a lot of bugs, too many that its not worth purchasing.
How exactly do I improve pathing? I don't see anything related to pathing in option at all.

when you go into the seperate options menu, theres a number value showing how many points the game will use to create paths , i think its default is 50.000, personaly i think the pathing is not soo bad, you can pause at any time and correct directions anyway

On the startup screen (before you start the game) you get the options play exit config etc. Click config and once it loads go to Miscellaneous. On AI options check the enhanced pathfinding option and type 999999 into the Path Search Nodes box, it will then default to max. It's actually really not that bad after that.
Personally I would disagree EE is too buggy to play and certainly has its pros (everything loads and saves instantly) but any version is a good one!

I bought the complete pack from GOG.com and there's no seperated option to be selected.
When i first loaded up the game there'll be 2 choices between Shadow of Amn and Throne of Bhaal then just regular option for each expansion. Guessing it's because it's a completed pack ?

It shouldn't, i don't exactly recall where it is or how it works with the GoG version, but there was an option menu outside of the game that you could use to do some more settings then the one inside of the game, one of these basic windows-y looking things. I think there was a link to it in the startmenu folder, but if not, you might have to look in the folder the program is in for something called "options" or whatever. Even if GoG changed something, these options should be available somewhere.
Also, just a stupid question, but what resolution are you playing in? One of the major mods that one should definitively get for BG on a modern system is a widescreen mod of some sort, because it is actually not that hard to scale the game to modern resolutions instead of the 800:600 or whatever it usually comes with, making it look A LOT better. Most of this is probably something you should do.

Weird, did you steal and get caught? Anyway, a solution is to potion of invisibility in and potion of invisibility out (if there are no potions for sale in the carnival, check a guide). Or potion of haste and run in with a char, talk and get out.
The mayor isn't hostile, is he?
