I've never played these games, I'll consider picking this up once I get on top of schoolwork.

The villian is all time great, the gameplay is legendary and the amount of stuff to do is as much as any game ever made. This is a game you need to take your time with. You can literally spends dozens upon dozens of hours in this game. There is so much to do it is overwhelming at times but keep at it. Make sure to save A LOT, and have different saves just in case. I have replayed this game more times than I can remember. Playing mage classes is most fun for me b/c of the choices. Edwina, err Edwin is the best/most fun companion. Make sure you do his personal quest (do all the players personal quests). After you've beaten the game a few times, try it with cheats. It's pretty fun to play a god-character with the best gear, all the spells and such. That was a fun playthrough. Oh, and I fucking killed Drizzit :D. Why would you need to cheat to get a god-character? If you're well familiar with the game getting ridiculously buff isn't so hard.

I just have some questions I haven't been able to find answers on google. How does experience work? If I do a quest and get 600 exp is that for the whole party or is it for each member? If it's for the whole party does that mean that smaller parties level up faster? Currently my party consists of my paladin, the little thief girl and the 2 friends of my killed adopted father. I kicked out everybody else who has joined up and stole their stuff, but I am having trouble getting to the caves/mines in the south. Should I grind more or should I get more party members? Right now my char is a undead hunter paladin? and he's missing a lot (level2 and I'm using 2 handed sword). Is this normal? His starting stats are 18 str 18 dex 18 con 13 int 13 wiz 18 charisma/character/charm (forgot what it's called) and I chose ++ 2 handed sword and ++ two weapon proficiency, is this alright? Also when my paladin got to level 2 and he leveled up I had no skills/attributes to distribute, is this normal? Lol it's the first time I have played this sort of game and I am a bit overwhelmed.

I think you should grind a bit but be really careful when you explore a new zone. In Baldur there is no auto-leveling for monsters so some areas are dangerous for low level characters. I also think that getting a full party will make the game easier for you. Try to clear the zones at the south-west they are a bit easier than West, Est and North. You should clear Nashkel without too many problems at level 3. Beware of ogres and bounty hunters :p 18 18 18 13 13 18 is quite good for a Paladin. Ideally you should get a 18 for wisdom to get a bit better saves but it won't really matter. Two handed swords are ok for this kind of character. About skills and attributes it is ok, you don't get it at every level. You will not be able to change your main stats anyway ( only with a couple of rares items and with some special quests in BG2 and ToB ). As a paladin, all you get when you are leveling is more health point, some skills for weapons ( not every level ) and some spells at mid/high levels.

max 8 Average 1d10 -> min 1 max 10 average 5,5 ( ty nttea again lol :o ) 2d4 swords are one handed so that means you will be able to get an extra weapon or a shield. Faster attacks or more defense. 1d10 is usually for two handed weapons, you will deal more damage but you won't be able to carry a shield, however you can switch to a bow or a crossbow during a fight wich is quite appreciable. ( You can't with two one handed or shield ). In early BG1 i have a preference for one handed weapons because your characters are weak and have poor armors so a shield helps a lot. Later in the game ( BG2 ) you get godly armors and sick two handed weapons so it doesn't matter as much. Power gamers will usually prefer 2x one handed weapon to get a faster attack rate but one handed+shield or two handed are still pretty good.

My memory failed me. There are indeed NPCs who will only threaten to leave, but there are some NPCs who will leave if too much time has passed at a specific stage in a quest. Korgan is a good example of both. He will only bitch about taking too much time before you try to get his book in the graveyard. If you take too much time after that, however, he will leave.

Like, in BG1, they may use 'emotes' like 'quaffs healing potion' while responding, or sometimes long spell descriptions, or something completely unrelated... Is this common or did I mess up somehow with the mods? I think it's related to BGT since only BGII-related dialogues pop up, no? Which mods you have installed ?
