I also suggest playing through with a wild mage without ever reloading after a misfired spell, unless you died of course. It's just so much fun hiccupping for 10 hours! Althought it's hard, i'm having fun playing my wildcard sorcerer. But it's impossible not to reload, it's like 80% of all the time that my champ will do some random magic, be it "abra kadabra ... poff... a big demon was summoned, that kills me instead of the enemies" or " hocus pocus ... poff.. some exploding ring of fire, that kills half of my party" lol. So basically my sorcerer is just an enemy in disguise who turns around me in the fights. But i enjoy it because he's such a fail and everytime he does such thing i must grin and enjoy reading the ingame text ![]() Another question is, at which level should i go dual class ? Is dual class worth it or should i stick with my original class ?

Dual class is good for certain class combinations. I would most certainly not recommend it for caster-first combinations (because then you stop progressing in your caster class)--most reasonable combinations start out as a non-caster and then swap INTO a caster class at a reasonable level.

Yes. You change class at warrior (kensai if possible) level 7 or 9 to get the half attack more per round. Level 13 is good also if you are patient enough.

The game is still awesome, but I really hate the first dungeon, especially after you've finished the game a few times. That, and not being able to skip scripted scenes, can become annoying quick when you know most of the dialogue already anyway. Minor issues though.

And I thought they only respawned when you LOADED, not when you saved? Anyway yeah, crazy bug. Remember trying to escape with dynaheir from the gnoll fortress and let me tell you... Those stairs were bathed in blood!

I'm curious though, it just seems like I can rest after every minor conflict, is there any reason NOT to? :X Edit: Just finished the first dungeon! Fun so far

Fun so far sure , theres a couple reasons 1. you may get ambushed 2. some party members may leave you if you don't complete their personal quests within a certain amount of time

Start a multiplayer game and make an entire partys worth of characters. Make them however you want, and then assign them to yourself when you begin playing. I found it impossible to play through as an evil barbarian because my actions would turn my fellow party members against me, but this technique works great because you can make all of them chaotic evil. Best playthrough I had of the game

Best playthrough I had of the game I'd say its "ok" for bg1, but you should definitely NOT do this in bg2 for your first playthrough. Way too many interesting npc's to miss!

Dragon Age was so underwhelming and angered me so much because they kept hyping it up to be the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. Fucking liars and their silly over-the-top gore and lousy main story. Baldur's Gate NPC members are so awesome, they are yet to be matched in other Bioware games that I've played including Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Nobody can't beat Minsc and Boo.

Best playthrough I had of the game Korgan, Viconia and Edwin are your friends. Jaheira, Jan and (i think) Haer'dalis also don't leave you unless your REALLY, REALLY bad (they bitch like crazy tho). Well... Party i had the most fun with was Viconia, Keldorn, Edwin, Minsk and X... Infighting ftw. times! ![]()

I dont know how to travel around the world so I figure I have to go to the city gates I go there and like 10 guys appear and immediately proceed to brutally rape me I feel like I'm missing something, : ( Edit: Is the expansion used together with the original game or is it a kind of standalone thing?

BG1 expansion ( Tales of the swoard coast ) is used with the original game. Basicly there are a couple of maps / dungeons / quests added to the game. For BG2 extension ( Throne of Baal ) you will need BG2 to play BUT you need to complete BG2 first and/or start a new character at the beginning of ToB and skip all BG2 ( that would be dumb tbh ). It is basicly the continuation of BG2 and only one map ( a dungeon ) from ToB is playable in BG2. You need to complete the game to get access to the others maps and quests. Once you are playing in ToB you cannot go back to the BG2 maps.
