Or was it more specified torwards executing the "right" build with the "right" timings? I suppose that defines skill in a way though.... so never mind. --Ending previous discussion-- Website is back up and running. Faster than ever. Now who can't wait for djWHEAT + PAX? With dodging/skillshots(?) etc. I think the skill cap will be higher. The skill cap in GW1 was essentially reached. The only things I can think of that weren't reached were intangibles, which, in theory, can never be reached. Then again, dodging/skillshots skill cap can never be reached either. I'm just at a loss now, and also confused whether or not 'reached' is proper grammar.

I wish more developers would have the same attitude when creating sequels to their games... Edit: Be careful of the book spoilers in the video (just noticed them). If you don't want to get spoiled turn it off shortly after Ree speaks about ArenaNet's permission to announce the third book. She then begins to explain how books and the game influence each other, and there come the spoilers.

Some professions had a much lower skill cap while they were the only viable option, but honestly the most balanced meta skill-wise was what euros called "balanced" and americans called "ultra-defensive eurospike". Going every man for himself like the americans liked came back in eotn thanks to a korean guild of people who didn't even play gvg and in the end was just a build that exploited VoD. You can always call a game imbalanced whenever every possible option isn't viable in the same way. Making some stuff overpowered for a month and then buffing other stuff is a way to keep the game visually interesting and not impossible to get in for new players. I think youre misunderstanding me. The meta shifts in specific skills does not matter one bit, it was just that in gvg the best option or playstyle was to play for the tie breaker. That's why I never gave two shits about actual balance, people would just find other ways to abuse the tie-breaker. No solution was ever found so that people wouldnt always play for the tiebreaker and that's why gvg is not coming back. Also I played in top 10 guilds throughout all of guildwars ( so i have first hand experience in all of this stuff).

And if so, what do you currently think of the pvp selection ArenaNet has offered us? Think it stands a chance at all? Honest inquiry.

Honest inquiry. I will be playing it for sure. Since im in china I actually havent seen any of the pvp videos or such so I have no idea how it will be tbh. I think wvwvw will be done a lot better than instanced(competitive pvp) but the systems to play in tournaments and such seem a lot better. Just have to wait and see how the competitive pvp draws out when people can actually play it that are good(boon control seem like shit pve players).
