how would a boss battle even work without those. i mean, there has to be some kind of aggro-system or do the monster randomly run around and attack everyone? and if there is, we already have tanks and dps. also i doubt the only heal in the game is a self-heal, so there are probably healers as well ... Nope, all self heals. If you notice, all the classes are essentially DPS ones with different support roles (so they all have to be brung). Basically the entire system revolves around dodging projectiles and such, so that there is no need for a tank. It's entirely skill based.
Actually if you saw + Show Spoiler +, they said there will be tanks, like necromancer tanking depending on weapon equipped. It sounds better than no one tanking and total chaos party.

I think what he meant to say is there isn't any dedicated tanks. If your a guardian for example, you can focus on healing if you so choose, by choosing traits and skills that compliment healing more than anything.

There's a GW1 HoM group that you can ask. Personally I'm just waiting for Winds of change to come out.

I only have the first expansion and I haven't even beaten the campaign yet :| lol. What exactly are the things you get for guild wars 2? I'd be down to spend a couple days on GW1 since I never got into it but I don't want to spend money on the expansions (I missed the sale yesterday :S)

It's basically a lot of grinding and item whoring, it'd probably take a good 3 months to fill that Hall Of Monuments legitimately, otherwise be prepared to spend a lot of time getting gold or god forbid buying it. Once again the stuff that gets transferred for GW2 is a bunch of bonus items that might be nice to have at the start of the game probably, and some cosmetic titles that probably do nothing. Basically it's a way to keep GW1 alive till GW2 comes out, so I don't think you'd miss a lot if you weren't a 'hardcore' player to begin with. I doubt the stuff you get will give you an advantage over new GW players regardless, Anet are pretty stingy when it comes to giving away free stuff.

Yea, it's most likely going to just be cosmetics.
If the items have stats, they won't be very good or they'll just be on-par, if the GW1 bonus pack stuff is anything to go by. My guess is the items will just be pretty skins of legit item stats. The nice thing though, is that according to what Anet has said, you can mix skins and stats with the new equip system.
Some of the HoM stuff are pretty sick, like pets for rangers and stuff. The last real reward you get is at 30 HoM achievements. Past that, you jsut get a title every 5 points, with the last one being Champion of the Gods. I just want to get to 30 points lol.

You and me both. I've always said the items were cosmetic, and for the record ArenaNet has said time and time again the items would not provide a benefit you can not already get in the game.
It just comes down to whether your a collector or not. If you are, we have a large group trying their best to get as much as they can in HoM, and if your not, then no sweat.

Oh nevermind then. Some friends were busy grinding out these things a couple months ago because they were transferring over to GW2. Are you guys sitll active in GW1 though? I'd like to meet some of the community before starting GW2

I still need 2 more points. I can satisfy that by getting Vabbian armor, but I poor so i got a lot of money grinding to do lol. Either that or I can get a tormented weap + one more elite armor set for a hero.
I want Anet to reveal the last class already :[

Sorry to spoil it, but the last class is the Mesmer. A mind-altering one hell of a cc/hex/debuff class for those who have fast reflexes.

Well, we're fairly certain it's a mesmer, yes. But they haven't released it's mechanics yet, it could be totally different than GW1.
Also, someone said something terribly wrong about GW1 in this thread that I was going to correct but....I can't find it now -_-.

Anyway, we know the final profession is a scholar (light armor) profession that's returning from GW1. The only real candidate is the Mesmer, whatever they end up calling it.

Thank you very much but that still doesn't tell me how I link the accounts, and if it's through a NC soft master account or just in game.

That's because we don't have any details.
Oops, I lied. It'll be through an in-game item in GW2, apparently. Well, that was the plan a year and a half ago. But that still doesn't tell us that it'll require a master account or just some sort of verification in GW1 or what. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments#How_to
