"no tanks, no dps, no healers" how would a boss battle even work without those. i mean, there has to be some kind of aggro-system or do the monster randomly run around and attack everyone? and if there is, we already have tanks and dps. also i doubt the only heal in the game is a self-heal, so there are probably healers as well ...

Nope, all self heals. If you notice, all the classes are essentially DPS ones with different support roles (so they all have to be brung). Basically the entire system revolves around dodging projectiles and such, so that there is no need for a tank. It's entirely skill based.

For tanking, instead of having a burly character take all the aggro so monsters wail on him, this game focuses on skills that keep monsters from reaching you if you want to stay ranged. That means debuffs like pinning, knocking down or slowing monsters as well as movement skills for yourself to keep away.

Bows don't have a minimum range in GW and neither do spells. You won't be gimped by something pounding on your face, and all characters can roll around to dodge stuff.

They're 3 interlaced campaign and eotn is another interlaced campaign that requires you to already have the game to play. If you're getting the game for the pve just get the trilogy and then get eotn, if you're getting it for the pvp you kind of need everything.

(aka what does everything pertain to?) HoM is in EotN, so you definitely need that. You don't actually need all three campaigns (EotN is an expansion, not a campaign), but the trilogy is probably the cheapest way to get them anyway. For PvP, you need to unlock skills and item mods, too. You can do that either by playing PvE and acquiring what you want (that can take a while, but it's free) or by buying unlock packs in the in-game (well, out-of-game, in-client) store. Combat Discussion http://www.arena.net/blog/jon-peters-talks-combat We’ve said this a few times in a few places but I can’t reiterate it enough: We built this game so that they professions act as play styles, not as roles. Each profession can support, control, and do damage. We believe that this creates more dynamic combat and more distinct professions because there are more play styles than roles. One of the best ways to explain this is with an analogy. In a first person shooter there can be a variety of weapons, from sniper rifles to rocket launchers to machine guns and shotguns. No one looks at these weapons and says, “They’re all the same, they all just do DPS.” Why should an MMO be any different? That is why we want to eliminate things that we felt were burdens on the game such as: Group LF Healer/Tank… Party wipes when you lose the wrong person. Watching the interface instead of the world. Playing with people because you have to, not because you want to. Being stuck in the same combat patterns over and over again. To be honest, if they can execute what they mentioned in this article perfectly and virtually eliminate roles in the game and instead allow playstyles to seamlessly integrate into the gameplay experience without requiring you to build the perfect group of a Warrior or Guardian as a tank, lots of melee and ranged DPS and one or several Priests for healing purposes, then I think that ArenaNet would have improved the game tenfold. In all honesty, Guild Wars didn't really feel like this in terms of both PvE and PvP content. If anything, the system felt broken in the same way that only Priests and Ritualists could heal and one or several was practically mandatory to keep your group alive. Furthermore, a Mesmer? was also mandatory to dispel Hexes which could quickly kill your group Also, I hope they scrap the "Your character name must be at least two words" requirement because that just felt unnecessary and annoying.
