I'm guessing I should do more of just the regular story then eh (only did like 3 or 4 of the quests since I created the toon).
best way to level is just to do EVERYTHING intended for your level (explore, gather, group quest, heart quest, craft, map completions), do group events as many as possible because they are fastest completion with many people and while you are doing those you usually get hearts done as well. Gather/explore gives decent exp if you do it at the correct levels. Crafting as well, I lvled 52-56 in 10 minutes by cooking from 260-300 today.

How do you know when to leave each zone though? In WoW it was pretty obvious because you would just run out of quests or the mobs would be like 10 levels lower than you (I never played GW1), but in this game I still have mobs like 2 levels higher than me and I've completed every heart in the zone :/

I tried playing my first character just like that, but I don't think it's how the game was designed. They want you to explore, craft, quest, do dynamic events and vistas, maybe pvp a bit. I don't think they intended for you to level up by just doing one things (questing). With my second character I started all the extra little stuff and find myself about right or a little high for the zones I'm in, I'm enjoying the game much more this way, personally.

So the more and more I level my warrior of chaos, Kharn, the more and more I regret making a melee based character in a game that has no tanks and is range dominated for both PvP and PvE.

Isn't one of your ranged weapons really strong? (Gun I think, but idk)
Also, what's the difference between Gems/Marks/Sigils/Runes?

I'm loving my warrior so far, level 62. From the looks of it, I do more DPS than any other class and I can reduce the damage done to myself with good play. With my PVP build, I can lock someone down and nuke them down with greatsword's hundred blades. If they run away, I switch to rifle, disable them with my aimed shot+t1 immobilize tactics trait and finish them off with bleeds.

im having a really hard time deciding between ele and engineer. I like mostly support, but want some utility/dmg as well.
Maybe guardian, but im leaning away from them quite a bit since i dont really enjoy melee as much.
Can anyone break down the pros and cons of each?

This is my first MMO and is every MMO have controls/camera like this? It's very frustrating to move around as character. I think I"m too used to fps style where I move and navigate with mouse and wasd.

Love to join the guild.
Lvl 39 atm, 100% all cities and about 6 zones. Crafting is about ~50 in LW and Weaponsmith.

Yes, you use wasd and hold down the right mouse button to move your character around.

i just explained it above, there is no "secret" just do everything lvl appropriate and dont mess around too much, also craft, crafting is free 2-3 levels for around 25-50 crafting levels if you do it at the right levels.

Gem is like Diablo gem. Provide stat boost but has no set bonus (so far, there might be in higher level). It can also be slotted anywhere.
Not sure about Marks, since I haven't seen one yet.
Sigils are weapon upgrade and normally give non-attribute stat.
Runes are armor upgrade. They come in set, and act like a set bonus found in WoW.

I played for 35.5 hours and at level 39 (I sightseeing and loitering around quite a bit). It's not very fast but I think it is appropriate pace (around 1 level per hour). The trick is pretty much trying to go for a 100% completion of each map. While you try doing this, you will also get to participate in more events too. Also, leveling two zones with similar level range at the same time is also an option. But it might cost you quite a bit to teleport between each zone.
