GW2 has a couple things going for it but PvE is not one of them. I could only play for 2 hours, Ill maybe play some tomorrow. Try a new class. Im just not into tab target MMO's anymore.
Im all for giving things multiple chances. Ima try a ranged class.
You must not be playing on max graphics settings, the graphics are definitely amazing. Agreed about the WoW clone part though, devs just keep popping out the same tired mmos and then they wonder why the player base disappears after a month.

Well maybe the comparison is unfair then.
Because I mean. You don't have to pay monthly for GW2. That really does change the dynamic. Even though in tera you can also buy gametime with in game gold.

i'll say it's definitely not a WoW-killer.

It isnt supposed to be. Its supposed to be ALL about the PvP. I dont PvP in games where you have no control over the specifics of your internet though (CS 1.6, other FPS' etc etc, SC2 gets a bye here because they did standardize everything).

Lets rape these scrub servers in some WvW!!!
|
a lot of people thought it was going to be
|
No smart people thought it would be... Its B2P... Just how would it be able to kill WoW?
The only people that talked about GW2 as a WoW killer was the people hating GW2.

lol believe what you want

The fact that you thought it would kinda proves my point.

Well GG stupid servers full
Hope they tweak the population caps tomorrow.

You couldn't even get into an overlfow server? Haven't heard anyone mention anything like that before, but then they did invite a hell of a lot more people to this BWE.

WoW kill itself a while ago, GW isn't meant to even compete with WoW directly, it's a PvP game and most people who play WoW aren't interested in competitive PvP.

1. WoW killer and Wow is dead are stupid terms stop using them. You don't call out the big dogs but you do hope for it. You also have to be pretty foolish to consider a game that old with millions of subscribers dead. So stop it and move on it belittles points you try to make.
Onto the fun stuff, GW2 this weekend seems to be abit of a stress testing considering just how many people are on the servers and it's kinda holding up.
Asura zone seems not quite done, needs more events and a smoother leveling curve throw in another event or two and it'd be fine from what I've played so far. Mind you it's hugely busy of course. Related to that I am trying to make a cute Asura male but it's fairly hard to do so and they need more hair styles right now I feel it's not nearly as many as it should be for them. Love the animations for them so far. The jump and evasions they do are adorable.
Vista's are neat, I don't mind jump puzzles/exploring if they actually reward you for it and they do. I got transmute stones for exploring fully divinity's reach pretty happy with this. Also happy to see transmute stones again.
In the end still enjoying the game and find it kind of odd that people are coming out of the woodworks complaining about Graphics and Camera. Graphics are fine maybe I am just too old and used to anything that isn't essentially blocks or pixels moving as a solid quality but yeah it looks pretty freakin good to me and I am not on a new machine to max out all the settings.
Overall very happy that I am playing Gw2 and look forward to continue playing it. For both pve and pvp. I guess I just like the open world/living world illusions of the game itself. Sure as hell a step up from Swtor's "planets" and it controls a hell of a lot better to boot.

Well the enviroment in the game sure looks awesome, but the characters animations/movements are horrible so is the camera. Which is a big problem if you want to have fluid PvP wouldnt you agree?

now back to gw2 dicussion thanks

Not impressed so far, given it till the weekend ends and will see..

Every MMO made since 2005 has been deemed a "WoW killer"
Anywho, I have a noob question. So in WvW pvp everyone is scaled up to level 80. But you keep your gear and traits and skills right? So wouldnt a real level 80 be massively more powerful? Like just stupidly so? Not quite sure how it all works.
