I think they send you an e-mail if you order online, or just ask them for the pre-order code if you go to a
retailer.

You guys have any idea how to check ping? I would really like to know what ping I get (I'm guessing around 100-200, but I would like to make sure)




So my thoughts about the archer:

Very fun class, very mobile but I feel like no invincible dodges hurt me alot (especially in pvp, pve dodges are easy once you learn boss patterns). 7 second dodge (5 seconds with glyph) and 20 second doge (15 seconds with glyph) imo is just not enough . Maybe after I get some more spells and levels it will change but still

Radiant Arrow and Piercing arrow seems to be my bread and butter skill, i have a glyph that adds 25% more damage to Piercing but in a PvP situation I've never seen a guy not dodge my piercing unless he was really bad or really distracted. Radiant on the otherhand is a bit harder to dodge for enemies as it requires only 2 quick charges for full attack, but the ending animation just totally fucking sucks. I can chain a salvo at the end, but then salvo ending animation also fucking sucks lol.
Also movement speed glyphs are a fucking must for PvP

Close quarters help me make a bit of room and does decent damage, but the 2nd animation for close quarters is the stun and in most melee situations people dodge the 2nd attack and no stun is made, which means i have to blow another dodge and if they're on cooldown well then im fucked lol. If I get knocked down though I can use retaliate but the retaliate stun seems to not be a 100% chance but rather a random thing

About traps:
I think traps are fucking amazing in this game. Incendiary trap hits almost as hard as my piercing/radiant arrow which is something I'm so glad for. Slow trap lasts too damn short but can help me pop another arrow and then there is stun trap. I think I only managed to get stun trap off once in a pvp situation.

Compared to the WoW traps, these are much more powerful, however unlike the WoW Hunter traps you have a bit of a delay until these pop (aka no instant freeze trap like in wow). So even if I pull a stun off them THEN spend another 3 seconds to plant a stun trap, most of the time it won't pop and they will just roll over it or just run over it. Also nobody walks over traps in this game lol (can you guys see it?)

Archer: Ranged class or a Ranged melee class?

Incase you guys who never played archer (or even sorcerer) didnt know, if you shoot your skills OVER a certain range you will do drastically lower damage (sometimes even as low as half). Max range on most skills are 18 or 19 meters btw. Although technically this should be the case in an action MMO there are times I have to actually drag my archer closer to the battlefront to deal 'normal' damage (closer than I would ever like to be). I found that the sweet spot to be around 10 meters apart, but lets be honest a melee class will shorten that distance in a second. This wouldn't be such an issue if animation canceling was possible on the archer, but then again I guess that would be overpowered.

I just wish breakaway bolt gave you a small invincibility, if it did all of the things I said in this post wouldn't be an issue

Great things about the Archer

if you can pull your combo off and there isn't another enemy healer around (also if the enemy isn't a lancer), you can literally put someone to half health within 5 seconds without any crit. This class if for people who love big numbers.

Playing the archer did not remind me of a wow hunter, but more of a Vanilla WoW ele shaman, two big nukes and an instant cast that deals unreasonable damage when hit lol. The Archer isn't as dependent as the old but forgotten trinket mage, but it is a bit hard to do anything if all your arrows and traps are on cooldown.

The ability to cast piercing arrow/radiant arrow while moving (50% movespeed without glyphs) is something I think even sorcerers will envy. Once you glyph these you can technically kite an enemy player as long as you remember if they blew their dodge/roll or not. Because once you know they blew their invincibility shit you can have a field day. Not to mention movement speed glyphs not only help in PvP but in PvE for positioning and dodging stupid fireballs that have aoe.

Overall I enjoy this class. Can't do shit in a 1v2 situation and definitely can't do shit in 1v1 against a decent player at this level. Since we are all only lvl 32, taking about class balance is something that shouldn't be done and with two more utility arrows coming to my archer I think my path as an archer will get much brighter

edit: Also anybody prefer mystic healers over priest healers? I think mystics are fucking amazing

Mystics are the preferred healer in K-tera in pve and pvp.
They have very good cc as well as a crit aura and mana restoring motes.

Yes I agree, they are amazing.

32 mystic here. Rolled warrior in CBT and it sucked ass, fuck that class. Rolled mystic in open beta and love it. Much better than priest in my opinion. Reminds of me chanters from Aion if you've ever played that. Mana management can be difficult if you have your aura buffs on while dps'ing and healing but it's not too terrible. Lots of utility. Great survivability in 1v1's as well.

I feel like the Slayer is a very powerful and fun class, I spent a majority of the weekend pvping on my Slayer after I reached level 32. I did mostly duels with people not open world ganking.

I dueled against a lot of lancers and I was having a pretty hard time due to the fact that they block most of my attacks effortlessly, I started to do better over time but it is so easy for them to block my combos and anything they want. If i get caught I lose a lot of health while they can just heal it every 45 seconds.

I don't feel like its imbalanced or Lancer is stronger at this level or later on because I feel like I have way to much to improve on before I can make a judgement about it.

Am I the only one who disliked playing slayer? Gameplay felt slow with all the charging required, yeah its great dmg, great solo and such but with nonstop movement of pvp, besides getting stuns off, you kind of just sprint around trying to hit stuff?

Unfortunately, everyone can see traps ;; They see exactly what you see, unlike WoW.

In my opinion, at 60 you would still be one of the most disadvantage classes in 1v1 with the current classes you have problems against getting their instant teleport stuns etc, the lack of an invulnerable dodge really does hurt you terribly.

In group PvP, which at the end of the day, is what matters most, you do your job better than anyone else, the ability to shoot traps coupled range slows brings so much utility to the correct team setup.

Not anymore. PvE endgame is too dynamic to allow the mystic to support the other classes as much as before. The content itself brings the mystic in line with the priest.

Neither mystic or priest are allowed to have mana problems in the content we have done so far since you can just keep mana infusion up all the time and thats infinite mana as long as you dont get tagged.

Warrior is definitely not for everyone. Its the only 5 star difficulty class and thats for a reason.

Does anyone know how threat works? Sometimes it felt like the healer drew aggro no matter what I did. I heard somewhere that it's more of a "recent actions" system instead of absolute, and that heals count as crits, so healers should autoattack whenever possible. Also the lancer shout is more a spam on cooldown skill than a taunt.

I keep hearing that lock on heals are the culprit instead of AoE like regen circle in regards to aggro on the healer.

Your feelings are correct. Threat is a rolling window of time and actions. The specific mechanics are unclear but the general idea is crystal clear.

There are no taunts except for maybe the lancer's master leash but I think even that is just more threat.

Healers need to avoid lock on heals like the plague. Especially priests. Priest lock-on heal is a worthless pile of shit. Think of every time a priest lock on heals as being the same as a lancer shout. But for some reason priests are still herpaderping with one heal button.

Mystics have no choice here since they only have the lock on heal for others, another reason why Priests shine in dungeons where difficulty matters. I know a lot of people think otherwise because of Domerans video's, especially since he plays KTera, but that doesnt mean he is right.

He thought the mystic buff doubles critical strike chance forever for chrissakes. Its just 5 percent.

EDIT: Oh I also forgot that they added a new glyph to priests that lets their charge up mana granting ability to benefit the entire party. I prefer them over the mystics mana balls.

Even though you can see traps its actually not so bad because the threat of a trap means a lot more in Tera than it does in WoW. In WoW you are allowed perfect control over your character. In Tera you have significant animations to consider.

Played way to much Tera this past weekend. Pvping as a sorc at 32 is quite enjoyable both solo and pvp. Pretty much the only class that can give me slight trouble 1v1 (aside from lancers) would be slayers. Mystics so far are much harder to deal with than Priests due to their shitty debuff cleansing balls.

Went pvping with a 2x sorc + priest setup and destoryed parties many times our numbers. Pve wise sorcs are pretty good too lol. People apprently feel that sorcs are horrible until their 48 for attack speed skill but I feel the damage output is decent enough already, but then again I had 16% atk speed weap. Pve wise I've never seen the healer take agro unless either both the lancer and I are both dead. Warrior tanks are horrid.

Distrobution of classes on the pvp server jagged coast included a shit ton of slayers surprisingly, a lack of lancers and other classes are more or less even.

The servers are in chicago so the most accurate way right now is to just ping chicago from www.pingtest.net or www.speedtest.net, it's basically identical to in-game ping.

Bad warrior tanks are horrid but bad lancer tanks can be just as frustrating. Granted right now certain hard modes are just not really approachable with a warrior tank. We dont have hard modes yet though.

But bluehole is patching warriors back in as tanks so queues should even out. The game was never intended to have just one tanking class.

Oh thank god. Queuing up for an hour as a sorc and having lancers get in in 1 second was so annoying.

Well it will get better but the spirit is the same. DPS always waits longer.

It's ok though every MMO has this problem.

I have a 2600k at 4500 also (more or less same as the i5 2500k) with a gtx 680 in window fullscreen mode. I never really noticed an FPS drop even with 100s on the screen and certainly not in the instances. I do use adaptive vsync though and have turned of AA and forced FXAA which serves decently (though some text is a little blurry so you might or might not want it).

Do you have the beta 301.24 drivers?


no i havent upgraded my divers in at least 2 versions due to advice on the forums. they latest releases are unplayable resulting in. blue screening and other terrifying things.

i tweaked lots of things down, especially shadows and max char limit and i was just disappointed in how poorly my i5 was performing. my friend has a 3 year old i7 and its getting fps alot higher than me.

Yeah, I played a Priest the entirety of the CBT, the key is to not let anyone get really low, just focus on using your HoT's. If you do have to nuke heal make sure you don't overheal. Overhealing draws like x3 the threat or something like that. But yeah, unless you have an amazing lancer tank, nuke healing will always draw aggro.

I dunno how you guys are having fps issues with i5's. I have an i5 nonoverclocked and 2 6850's and haven't had fps issues yet. I even streamed a giant 30v30 guild fight a few days ago and had 0 fps issues. Most of my shit is on max except the few tweaks posted on page 81 of this thread.

maybe its my ram? honestly i dont know. my post had temps and voltage while running the game. my ram is 4gb and cheap since i reused. my gtx 570 isnt fully overclocked but, maybe i should just force AA off. i am playing off my tv monitor thats 32" since ive always used it, but to me it seems strange that your fps is solid when you are not even oc'd.
