Will it be possible to obtain a Korean version of this game or will I have to play on NA? Are you restricted to the region you live in? My idea is that I can use this game to help myself learn Korean and have fun at the same time. How easy is the game to play if you could not understand much of the text? Is it possible? I ask this because I used to play WoW and often I would never read the quests. It was mostly go here and kill X. I also remember one WoW player from Brazil that learned English by playing. Is it possible to use an English client on the KR server? Thanks for any help anyone can provide. ^^ There used to be some machine-translation patches for the KR client, but I'm not sure if they're being maintained. My friends and I played KR retail for a while; none of us knew Korean, and some of us, due to technical difficulties, had to use the untranslated KR client the entire time. The only real issue I had is that it took some effort to recognize the effects of glyphs, crystals, and item bonuses. You will not be able to use the actual NA client to play on KR servers, because the version updates are not synchronized. When you're in Korea, you'll need a Korean citizen's ID in order to play KR TERA. You can ask a friend for his/her information to use when making an account. I believe that En Masse will block Asian IP addresses from playing the NA version. Source: http://tera-support.enmasse.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/153/kw/region

Most quests are your typical grind quests which are not a problem. Some quests require a level of understanding where you just check your invent for a quest item to use, or you can maybe you could try googling. I play in a guild that's english speaking so that helps alot. There are a bunch of english translation patches running around, I haven't tried to use one myself as I've been getting by quite well. Your best bet to find one and how to apply it is probably steparu forums.

Im lvl 7 sofar and i already dislike its aionlike "you can gather everything". I have absolutely no clue how the crafting/profession system works, but why can i gather flowers, ore and some weirdo essences already. The combat system looks indeed very promising, but obviously cant comment on how it turns out at maxlevel.

What does bother me is that the UI, while good, hasn't really improved in the past year since KR release.

Reached lvl 16 now, the servers unexpectedly stayed online past 12 here so I have to make myself quit, gotta be at uni in 7 hours...sunday classes suck. However, I can't wait for my first dungeon at 20, gonna be loads of fun figuring out how to actually heal in this game^^ I'll probably fail hard in the beginning^^

Of all the silly MMORPG things to complain about, I personally don't think gathering/crafting is an issue. It's almost entirely painless (other than time/money spent gathering and buying mats) and serves as an alternate avenue for generating gear while you level. Ideally MMORPGs would include crafting that's both a pillar of gameplay and painless, but developers can't seem to find the happy medium between mindnumbing "minigames" (FFXIV comes to mind) and click-click-generate-100-items (TERA, AION, WoW). I far prefer the latter approach, though I've heard that Vanguard and SWTOR have made small steps on both sides toward something slightly better (could be wrong). What does bother me is that the UI, while good, hasn't really improved in the past year since KR release. So will you have to chose your profession later and can only chose 1 or 2 like in wow, or be able to do everything like in aion?
