I like the game. I have a level 16 Slayer, and I started a lancer who is like 4 or 5.. I wish i had started with that class, because it seems like it would be really fun to tank in this game. It reminded me a lot of Fiona in Vindictus, only a way bigger and fleshed out game instead of running down laggy hallways.
The problem for me lies in the questing. It sucks. Questing in MMOs is probably the worst popular design in video games that I can think of. I just don't know a single person who enjoys being sent out on these menial tasks over and over. I'm even dreading playing lancer since it means redoing all the stuff I've done on my Slayer.
In all it's a good game, I am really on the fence after swtor, and I feel this game will likely go f2p in the not so distant future anyway because I think it stands to make more that way

I hear they added another instance recently, but I really want stuff you can do with more than just a 6-man party. Lineage 2 was fun when your entire alliance mobilizes to PvP for epics, but in TERA you can just get a 6-man party and enter an instance, there's no competition. The closest thing to competition was when the 2chan guild on my server tried to PK everyone before they could reach the entrance to the black tower instance in a futile attempt to stop other guilds from farming equipment. There were 3 channels so it was just a battle of channel switching and killing them before the rest of their members arrived.
Haha Japan land of the overpriced! Although I immensely enjoy the game at the moment I probably still won't pay 35/m to play it. Currently if you lock in yearly it should only be $8 usd/monthly for the enmasse version, which isn't too bad.
Hmm does all late game gear regardless of pvp/pve gear gets dropped in instances? I'd assume only pve gear would be dropped easily in instances and pvp gear through some soft of pvp point system?

My two cents,
combat is ridiculously fun and makes the none existent grinding fun to do. you can't farm like a bot, u have to micro so thats good. graphic is good, it has that aion feel that i like.
some things I don't like are quests that are pretty boring, same voice acting over and over and pretty bad ones too (a child NPC talking in a manly voice?). Teleports are really hard to come by it seems, return scrolls are expensive and there arent many merchants around so its hard to stock up your inventory.

You call that a grind..? no offense but people want everything just handed to them nowadays. Go play single player game and cheat on console if u don't wanna work for it. No pain no gain I didn't call it a grind. I called it tedious. I enjoyed the newbie island alot, but lumbertown just sucked (for me). It does get fun again after that, though, so my concerns are cleared.

Teleport scrolls are cheap to purchase. You get SO much gold in this game even from low level mobs.

The voice acting and script are awful, but it's just so bad that it's funny. Completely inane shit all the time like "gotta go, you know women" and "takes one to know one" that make absolutely sense in the context.
Anyone wanna do some instances on Serpent? I'm 22 and my remaining quests are all group.

Professions, enchants and bag slots. :X
I'm not sure if characters are rolling over throughout the closed beta and if the level cap is going up, but if both of those are true, it probably makes sense to just skip working on your gear since you'll replace it soon anyways.

Ah, well that's good. I guess the other issue now is that we're on pve servers, so aside from trying the class out, it doesn't make much sense to put a ton of effort in if you'll be playing on one of the pvp servers. I have a 22 zerker for now, but I'll wait for pvp before putting much time into the others.

i like the game, probably going for GW2 which will probably be released around the same time, i think the durability of this game just isnt going to cut it, i dont think it will last while GW2 will. but the game is not bad at all.

People talk about Guild Wars 2 like they already played it. You don't know if the game is going be good or not until you play it so please people stop comparing things that you don't really know, even for us that only played tera this week-end have no idea if the game is good at end game or not. I don't think what will happen but I'm going to try end game Tera and GW2 as well before coming here and giving my full mouth of "knowledge".

Instead, you're going to come here, and shout at other people for sharing any of their own "knowledge" - before you've played the end-games of either GW2 or Tera...
Thats cute!

Don't get me wrong I apreciate game first impressions of other people a lot, it gives me insight or different point of views about the game. but when they start saying "OMG TERA PVP SUCKS TRUST ME I PLAYED 3 HOURS" are just plain dumb same goes with comparing two things that you don't know.

This game impressed me with their combat, which is what really shines in this game. Although I have only played warrior until level 15 I felt the urge to play more - just because the combat is pure awesome. This game doesn't have the same monotone combat like World of Warcraft. Every creature have somewhat unique abilities, so you have to learn have to dodge everytime you meet a new one (as far as my experience goes). I am curious about the end game content, if it can go to the heights of World of Warcraft - which kept me playing then game for 4 years in a row, raiding on a mid-high level (top 100 guild pve).
I want to preorder the game simply to play the closed beta more, but I have to wait to see how the HD texture looks like in the CBT2.
This is a MMORPG to watch out for.

Awww was fun while it lasted. Invested everything into level 22 gear hahah but due to that I've learned a lot, +5 to +6 is impossible with white powders/uncommon items as sacrafice. D:
What makes the game fun is when the odds are stacked against you, such as taking instances/bosses with pure dps, without healers etc. And also penalties on death makes it much more of a incentive not to die. My +boss dmg crystals always broke when I died.
