Games have went from being about the journey and the story to being about the destination. I'll never forget my times in Valkurm Dunes or in the Crawlers Nest or fighting Tucan Sam birds for merits.
Meh, perhaps my MMO days are past. I just do not like the direction the genre is heading in.
I'm sure you're a minority who enjoys grinding. The problem with that model is that there is very little end game, and searching for people to play with becomes much more difficult. I think leveling in this game is pretty fun, I've been grinding dungeons to not get too much exp since my gf couldn't play these last few days. The dungeons are still fun after running it like 15 times, probably because I'm a tank though.

You have to question if levelling really is a worthwhile experience, grinding to someone might look like fun questing to the other but the fact still remains that questing in MMOs are mostly a joke in terms of story progression as you are easily spoiled by other players. The 'questing grind' in MMOs are a clear issue and some try to tackle it in different ways, Guild Wars attempts to spice up the questing system by making it more dynamic while other games simply focus on the endgame to make it worthwhile and accelerating the levelling process really does aid that. I have not seen a truly good story driven MMO and doubt it will ever come simply due to the nature of the Massively Multiplayer Online Genre. I have to question how much content is really in this game with such a short leveling system though. That seems really really short. Unless there is a huge amount of end game content I have to come to the conclusion that this game is lacking in content. I to enjoy the journey its much for fufililng to hit top level when there is actually some time invovled and it cant be done in a matter of 2 days.

Haven't played MMO in years. This game seems interesting, any trailers besides the launch ones that could give me a little better idea of the game? I've seen some gameplay but not much.

You just described my exact view on all MMOs now. RIP FFXI and fuck Abyssea.

You described exactly what I like. Fuck all the waste of time leveling garbage. That's a very small portion of the game. Look at what happens to games that focus on that AHEM SWTOR. They suck. You need stuff to do at end game where you spend 98% of your time. I'm level 50 and rushing as fast as i can through this so I can reach end game pvp stuff.

You have to have played FFXI (for a rather long time, at least a year I'd say) to understand it. The game was simply amazing. You made one character, you had 20 jobs to max on that character gear from countless end game content to get for each class, stuff to do the entire time solo, an entire world to explore rather than areas you quest through and never go back to. It truly was unique in a way that dwarfs all the Everquest/WoW style MMOs I have played. Unfortunately the latest content update completely ruined it.

European release is at 12:00 CEST? so...1 hr from now?

23 minutes to go! Really enjoyed the pre-order, the combat system is so rewarding. It seems so polished and has all the features other MMOs lack recently plus more. Now to just cross my fingers there will be endgame content by the time we need it.

Can anyone please test out if it is possible to rebind hotbar (1,2,3,4,f1,f2..) on numpad and directional arrowS?
I am a lefty so I play all my games on that , thanks

I think I left soem quests behind and now I am screwed or something. I can't kill anything my level quickly by any sense of the word, everything at 54 just took a huge jump up in difficulty and life.
Now I am stuck grinding repeatables.

The endgame content is already there. This game has been out a year in korea. It didn't have any when it first released but they put a bunch in.

Where did you hear this? I didn't realize they'd allow transfers to the more populated/full servers. I'm trying to get friends who just started to play with me on Jagged.
