Why not just give him his contract? Now people will have to keep a safety deep when playing the vikes. Adrian Peterson is going to love this.

The Vikes, no one benefits more than AP for the reason Sadist said. And if they get Rice back this season, goddamn. From a fantasy perspective, that's gonna fuck everything there. Shiancoe will be hurt the worst, because Moss immediately leapfrogs him in the redzone priority list. I'd have to imagine all receivers will see their numbers change. Rice and Harvin will find more space, but get less looks. AP will have waaaaaaaay more holes, but his RZ impact, I am not sure. He's a beast on his own, and Moss will suck out that safety, but I am not sure there. I think it's of minimal concern though. Even if he loses a few, AP gains so much from that safety not being there

As for the offense, it's going to have a pretty big effect, but not as big as it would have when McDaniels was here. They have been trying to transition back into a safer more methodical offense with heavy tight end play for awhile now, which doesn't need Moss as much, but will still suffer from his absence. The only guys that look like they could fill in at a #1 slot are Brandon Tate and Taylor Price. Both of these guys are real young, and neither have the same skill set as Moss so I think it's more likely that the Patriots simply won't have a number 1 guy at wide out anymore unless they make another deal or something.

What the hellllllllll 33 year old receivers who, one handed grab over revis christ aside, aren't having a good season, shouldn't really be worth much more, even if they are randy moss. pats' next draft is hella scary, two picks in each of the first four rounds.

Doesn't usually matter. The Patriots like to trade into future drafts when they don't see anyone they like. I'm generally not happy when a contending team trades a key player for picks mid season, especially when it's not a steal, but I do think they need a few strong drafts in succession to get back to the top. Moss alone will not do that, I'm just kind of disappointed that we wont see what this team could have done this year with him.

His season is only unproductive because of the way their offense is being run this season, not because of him.
