Can't wait until he signs with them in September.

And yeah, I understand why people jumped to that conclusion. I'm saying the rep he has seems to lack merit. perception doesn't always = reality though, so that's how we are where we at. I still think even that if he was such a huge, gutless cocksucker, it still would be stupid to assume that he's being a pussy there, simply because of the financial implications there too. But yeah, the Bears are a terrible organization anyway, so that doesn't surprise me. Ignore it during the game for strategic reasons, but after, it should be damage control. Wait what? No, almost all active players put their comments on their official, authorized twitter feeds. They didn't hide from jack. I just don't know which of those active/ex players have actually played with Cutler before (aside from maybe the Pro Bowl).

![]() "MCL sprain. That's what the injury was," Bears coach Lovie Smith said. "We knew that. We had an idea at the time that that's what it was, and that's what we're saying now." It took almost a whole day for the team to announce what they already knew, and probably could have helped alleviate criticism. Although I think a "sprain" is going to bring on the fury again...

Edit @ sixghost: I recall seeing Hanie and Cutler looking over the playbook together during the third quarter.

It's been confirmed at a "Grade 2 tear", whatever that means. Lovie misspoke. http://twitter.com/skjensen/statuses/29649979156992000 Also Hawk, Caleb Hanie addressed the whole "why didn't he help out" thing. On what he'd say to those who question why Cutler wasn't more helpful on the sidelines with him: that's from deadspin"He helped me out numerous times throughout the game. Before I went in the game he came to me and said hey trust yourself, trust your reads, use your feet if you have to, don't be afraid to do that, and trust your O-line. That calmed me down a little bit. Then after we went down and scored, I had the adrenaline flowing a little bit after that touchdown, and the same thing, right when I got to the sidelines he was the first one to say hey great drive, now we've just got to go get another one , make sure you stay calm and composed in there. He did that numerous times throughout the game, so people don't see that. I guess people didn't see that on T.V. but it definitely happened. And then we're sitting there watching the plays last night, there's not much to dissect, they were doing the same stuff the whole game really. A lot of two-man, a lot of corner blitz, safety blitz, and Woodson coming off the slot, so it was pretty easy to see. He didn't need to do too much sitting there dissecting…"

He's just not very likable so he's taking tons of shit for an injury that probably would take most other QBs off the hook.

The Bears organization for years hasn't usually divulged information to satisfy half witted critics. If the guy is out and says the doctors held him out that should be good enough.

Also, the dude was getting hammered all day because of that shit line. He already takes risks as is, so you'd have to think a gimped Cutler is a sitting duck back there. This is a huge problem with the general public receiving medical news. By definition, a sprain is a tear. I haven't caught up on the thread yet, but people need to inform themselves better. A third degree sprain is a complete tear/separation of the ligament. A first and second degree are partial tears, with the second being worse than the first, of course. People also fail to take into account that the guy runs for his life on 3/4ths of the plays; this isn't like Rivers' knee injury where he got to sit in the pocket for 3/4ths of the plays. This guy has to move. Would people question Vick coming out with a knee sprain? No, because half of his game is running. Half of Cutler's game is running away from DLinemen that his OLinemen were too incompetent to block. Furthermore, none of this is even a discussion if A) Todd Collins is never in the game; B) the refs don't call complete bullshit penalties two plays in a row, taking time away from the game, and miss a blatant facemask against the Bears; C) Lovie doesn't call another ill-advised time out on what was an absolutely brilliant play call (counter draw), then come back with the worst third down call I've seen in my life, given the situation (you don't run an end around on 3rd & 2 with the NFC Championship on the line. Save that bullshit for the preseason); D) had Hannie shown a bit more discretion when he threw the pick to Raji (though, hats off to Hannie for an otherwise brilliant performance, given the situation he was put in). Why? Because the Bears probably would have won or tied the game then. That counter-draw could have gone for a TD; the Packers' D pursued heavily to the right. It was easily a first down, and with one one guy to beat, really, it could have been a much longer gain. Still, we'll never know what could have happened, only what did. On January 25 2011 08:45 Souma wrote: Guys, did SweeTLemonS kill himself or something? Haven't heard from him since! No, and to be honest, I wasn't even mad at the end of the game. I was pissed off after that stupid third down call I mentioned already, but pretty much all my anger is/was about that play. There's nothing that can be done to change what happened, so fuck it. It was a great game either way. And honestly, the second Bears score was easily a top 5 experience of my life. I wish everyone could feel the energy that was in that stadium in those moments. It was surreal as Hannie hit Knox for a 35 yard pass, just to watch Taylor walk in to the end zone two plays (? I think two plays) later. The difference between seeing that on TV and being in the stadium in that moment is indescribable. I wish I could package it and give it to other people so that you could understand. But to share in that jubilation with 50,000 (rough guess, there were a lot of Packers fans, who were all pretty nice about the whole thing, at least by me) other people, screaming at the top of your lungs. . . then the defense clamped down for several drives after that. The emotional highs and lows of that game were unreal. I'm not happy that they lost, but the experience as a whole was worth every second of it, even though it ended bitterly. I wish I could write out the words to describe that feeling to you guys, but I can't. It was like falling in love for the first time, almost. . . just completely surreal. The game didn't end in anger, though; it was just emptiness. Those guys gave it everything they had, absolutely everything was left on the field. Aside from them hoisting the Halas trophy like every Bears fan dreamed, there is nothing more that anyone could reasonably want from the players. They did everything they could to win it, and they came up short. It sucks, and it was sad to witness a group of people play their hearts out to come so close and fail, but all that could be done was done from the players. . . The coaches? They have some 'splainin to do.

I was at Qualcomm Stadium when the Chargers played against the Bengals last season and Kaeding kicked in the winning field goal at the very end. It was incredible. If that happened in a Championship game, I could only imagine.
