There's nothing more disheartening that unlocking that new tier tank to then get placed in higher tier matches with a shoddy gun, engine, turret.

Yep, it's tough right now with almost all stock on my pzkpfw IV.

9 kills with the BL-10.
That awesome feeling of accomplishment which lasts until the next game where your team wipes out 0-8 in the first 4 minutes.
It was good while it lasted.

any1 else who doesnt like the new t10 mediums? i dont like being in a team w/ m48(me) and a t62a vs maus/t110 in other team.
it also feels like i get way less xp on the tank than i should. maybe bs tho. but at least i finally got tank ace ..drove me crazy not having that on a tank that i play somewhat often.

I still cling to tier VIII instead of progressing to X, though I could do that. I'm neither amazed nor disappointed by the current tier X medium tanks. I don't grind WoT anyway these days.
Their armour design is often chaotic.

That's because the M48's turret is curved, so when you view it from the front it appears to be getting progressively thicker as you "move round"

I want that tank.. almost there!

if you had one round with that tank's gun, you wouldnt care one bit about its armor. its glorious.

Patch 8.0 just hit. For anyone not up to date with the development of WoT, it introduces new, overhauled graphic rendering systems and the long anticipated physics engine. You can now drive 100mph down a hill without a cap on your speed, or do stunts off the sides of cliffs and kill yourself -- or the maus you landed on.

But you will lose your tracks if you drive over a hill at 100mph. .. Theres a cap to your speed.
The new patch brought me back to WoT, played it on the testserver and now my tanks actually "feel real". They feel heavy. And the graphics are quite nice now.

Cap pretty much exists within the steepness of a hill on a given map. As long as you don't hit a bump you shouldn't lose your tracks.

Well, does not work with my E75, which max. gets up to 40km/h and then is capped. Everything else cant even work, if you think about it. Your engine is a limiting factor without a clutch.
Maybe if you fall down the cliff on Himmelsdorf you will reach 100 for a short period, but thats not really fun. Well it is, but just once.

It's fun the second time around if you land on another tank. Third time around if it's a friendly tank. Fourth time if that friendly tank is bitching about you driving off cliffs shortly before you land on him.

They keep nerfing almost everything, even the Marder again.
edit: Well, I have to take that statement back. I can't really judge it, because the mechanics feel so different. Balance might have shifted a lot.

Got my hands on a media account. Everything unlocked and fully upgraded. Gotta say this game is quite fun when you actually have strong stuff.
Any tips for someone just learning the ropes?
Right now I'm like a little kid with the keys to his dad's fucking howitzer. No idea what to do, but something's gonna' get blown up.

I sucked until I learned the importance of positioning and awareness, patient and conservative play.
