Greater Rift Leader Boards or Personal Progression, I suppose. I was an avid d2 pvper but I don't think that aspect of the game is ever coming back at this point. You'll find joy in what is available or you'll play something else. ![]() That's funny thing to say. What was D2's pvp system ? Go out of the town and brawl. Hmm... Isn't it the same in D3 ?

D1 having 2 abilities was okay because the entire game was new and unmapped (and I loved finding scrolls)...D2 having only 2 abilities and making you change everytime you needed to do something else with a hotkey, use ability, hotkey...was just dumb. But it got even better if you wanted an aura from your character like Paladin and only had one ability to push D3 gameplay wise is light years better than D2 People may like the D2 loot system or D2 skill system and those are valid opinions but as far as gameplay and end game challenge D3 buries D2...

D2 had pretty shallow systems design, but even that was much much better than D3. Pretty much everything about core systems in D3 is stupid: primary stats are stupid for everything but class and vitality being useless, armor and resistances are stupid for being the same stat and individual resistances not making any difference, skill runes were completely useless until RoS where they finally realized you should buff different damage types separately, but still having 6 variations of every damn skill is the largest waste of programmer/artist effort I've yet to see in a game. The socket system (until legendaries) is stupid for having 20'ish variations of gems noone ever uses and even at the top level it's very shallow too (should I get strength or intelligence for my barbarian, hmm....). Don't even get me started on items and trade, it's very bad too, and after making several steps in the right direction in RoS they're making it worse again with sets destroying any build diversity. When I soloed Hell with a single-player sorc in diablo 2, I had 8 active skills that I used. On ladder that would be more with CtA and other skill-granting items. Yeah, only 4 of them were not buffs (teleport, chain lightning, static charge and frozen orb), but please take a look at your typical wizard (pre torment-sets) - familiar, force armor, magic weapon, teleport and two skills you use to do damage. Doesn't that sound abit similar? I actually had more active damage skills in D2 and teleport wasn't a half-assed "use once in 15 seconds" escape tool, but a full-power spell. D3 has an easier and better interface to access your active skills, but that's it. D3 is the best game for core gameplay - the way you click your mouse and make stuff blow up is executed perfectly, characters look gorgeous, blood and pieces everywhere. The endgame is meh, group PvP might have been better, but it's ok I guess. That's why I ultimately prefer D3 to PoE or any other ARPG. But in the systems design aspects it has much to learn from other games, D2 included.

I also hated PvP, and how random people joined even low lvl games just to PK. Yesterday though, after reading the post on reddit complaining about the unfairness of group vs solo play, I joined pub bounty games to see myself what was all the fuss about. Well, I got such retarded amount of xp (compared to playing solo) that I almost forgot to be happy for my two RoRGs, which I did not really work for, really, but got them anyway.

![]() dat survival bonus though! lols. I should be on tonight if you need/want a PL. I need to figure out how to farm in d3 and play MKX at the same time. Too many games and free time at an all time low while trying to buy a house. The struggle ;_; On April 22 2015 08:35 dAPhREAk wrote: group vs. solo play is ridiculous. even alkaizer is playing in groups now because of the advantage of groups. its not more challenging, its just more rewarding. i wish they would make it more even so that we dont have to join groups. yep, I've actually stopped playing solo this season (even though I prefer it a lot of the time). If I'm doing speed t6 rifts, I'll force myself to join a public game just to have the group buffs. I mostly play solo or with 1 or 2 friends, never knew enough HC d3 players to make consistent 4 man farming groups. :{
