eg, if you and another wizard are both using stretch time, you will only gain 15% attack speed and not 1.15*1.15 ias
imo dmo as a whole is much weaker than talrasha's the entire 4set dmo bonus is equivalent to a level 25 pain enhancer gem with dual element bonus from tal rasha's (2000% ~ 1950%) and usually you're going to run 4 elements so that's already 3850% damage per second with just one gem. not to mention dmo only buffs arcane orb and signature spells, whereas talrasha's is a blanket buff on all damage. still fun to play but not sure if dmo will be too viable past gr50

for bubbles though, i have to say its pretty damn fast for t6 runs. i use the rune that lowers CD, drop a bubble on white monsters and just walk away, no mm or orb needed. elites take one or two orbs plus bubble. rg takes a bubble and a few mm plus orb. its pretty fast; the only thing keeping me from running is the CD on bubbles, but thats easily handled by the wand plus diamond in helm. (note, i also use lvl 25 poison gem)
i am not even geared that well. i would guess a similarly geared tal rasha cant compete with me on fast t6 runs because of the setup required for tal rasha. not sure though.

I'm with you on the drops. I do have 2 pieces of 3 different WD sets, but you would think that I could find some stuff better than Goldskin, a level 61 leg bracer, and so forth.
I did get an ancient dagger today which is also funny because I have 4 ancients so far and they are 2 on each of 2 slots...ancient dagger isn't very good though 8( if only I could reroll it and add a socket...8/

hey just wondering if this game is worth buying (having enjoyed d2 back in the day) given that PoE is free?

PoE Act 4 isn't going to be out for awhile so D3 could definitely fill the gap if you're a PoE fan looking for something to kill time. Raiz, Nugiyen, Rhox and other PoE streamers have been playing D3 seasons and enjoying it.

D3 has more 'casual' playablitity upfront but has a monetary investment. PoE is more complex but free. I'm not sure which way a 'casual' would go, both games can be played casually or try hard, you'll just get more out of d3 if you play it casually than you would from PoE most likely.

I did not even know there are nephalem rifts, before I could do greater rifts. Oh boy, I'm kinda at a loss what to do exactly. I'm ty sure it would be a waste to do greater rifts below torment, but the one time I tried a nephalem rift in torment, well, it was pretty frustrating. WIth the pseudo-resurrect passive and tons of heal I managed to only die twice, but the way I did not deal any damage was not fun at all. At master I can mob them, and just condemn the shit out of everyone, which is fun!
I'm paragon 10 atm and have 180k dmg. Nephalem rifts doesn't really drop anything, besides craft materials and the key to greater rifts + the gambling stuff, so it definitely does not have the "get at least one legendary with every run!" feeling to it.
Should I still keep at it, until I eventually find/craft some better eq, and then start my first torment greater rift, or does a torment grift worth it, even if I have to kite my soul out during the process?
-------------
What is the fastest way to get a char to lvl 70 solo? Do bounties all day?
-------------
Not sure how powerleveling works in D3, but if I can help someone, I'll gladly help. (If powerleveling starts at torment 6, then just forget I said anything :D)

Not sure how powerleveling works in D3, but if I can help someone, I'll gladly help. (If powerleveling starts at torment 6, then just forget I said anything :D) difficulty level is irrelevant to GR. they are based on the level of the GR, not difficulty of game you are in.
fastest way to level is bounties, solo. but only specific bounties. also, since you have a GR key already, you can get a gem of ease, which if upgrade will make solo leveling up a breeze.
i discussed above what to do with GR keys to get itemized quick.

i never liked the combat flow or hardcore system in PoE

After reading your post for the 4th time and the greater rift article on dwiki I think I finally understood it. I still don't understand however that what happens if I don't let the timer go down and get more keys. If I get more keys I can possibly go from grift lvl1 to grift lvl 3, essentially missing out a whole round of loot? Shouldn't it be compensated by better loot during that run?
And I see people getting achievments for completing grifts, and it also mentions whetehr it's solo, duo, etc. ladder. Does that mean if I for example reach lvl 18 solo, then I still have to start from lvl 1 in a 2 players game? If yes, what happens if I want to party with osmeone but my duo highest grift achievment is lvl X, and his is lvl X+5?

grift trials determine the level of the grift key. so, if you dont want to start from level 1, you just do better during the grift trial. the better you do, the higher the key it gives you. you can do grift trials as solo, 2 person, etc. and it doesnt affect the level of your key (except for one minor point you need not worry about).

So the meteors are a big part of tal rashas DPS, right? Does that mean that I want weapons with high weapon damage, rather than high DPS?
|
I looked for TL clan and only saw one with very few active members when I realized you spoke about US server =(
Are there some TL hardcore player in EU? I am currently parangon ~100ish with a wizard, and I use a sub-otpimal-but-very-fun build based on a mix of slow time and meteor, mainly adapted with what loots offered me. Just tried T5 yesterday.

On April 15 2015 21:12 Cascade wrote: So the meteors are a big part of tal rashas DPS, right? Does that mean that I want weapons with high weapon damage, rather than high DPS? I was suspicious of this as well. A lot of the builds seem to be recommending MH+OH rather than a 2H, but I'm not sure why yet. Obviously the Serpent Sparker serves a purpose, but those builds even recommend other 1H weapons if you haven't gotten a sparker yet...
I'm sticking to a 2H while I'm at the lower Torments for now, since one wave of meteors takes out pretty much any elite or RG at this point. I can see how that would be tougher at GR40+ where the guardians last forever and you need some other source of DPS, but switching to a 1H seems like it would gimp your meteor damage so much that they would become less effective even against regular mob packs.
I'll trust their experience for now and find out for myself when I get up there.
