So I have a technical inquiry. I wanted to know if 6 piece marauder with focus and restraint is better for damage then 5 piece with royal ring, unity and cindercoat. I'm asking because everyone has switched to the multishot set already and I can't find anyone still running marauder. Also, I suspect that dropping unity is gonna be a huge survivability drop.
Note: I'm making a seasonal DH that will run the multishot set, but I want to keep my original using marauder, because its boring having 2 chars with the same spec.

Anyone who tried the new Roland - is it possible to optimize skills/items to run Roland's without a wrath generator? I'd love to have shield bash on the left and sweep attack on the right mouse button, but I'm not even 70 yet to try it out. If possible, is it doable without Piro Marella?

You shouldn't run sweep and bash at the same time, one or another. Also you need to spec for each. For shield bash your wrath regen is Long Arm of the Law with Laws of Valor - Unstoppable force, a Piro and Drakon's bracers. This should keep your shield bash cheep enough that you can basically spam it as long as there is something to hit.
For sweep you need the Golden Flense as a weapon and Denial as a shield since Flense gives you 6 wrath, Denial boosts the damage of your sweap attack and Laws of Valor should again reduce the wrath cost of your attack to within sustainable levels.

Well, shoudn't it be possible to run Golden Flense, Denial and Drakon's at the same time and keep Unstoppable Force and Long arm of the law for the wrath regen?
The problem with Bash is that it's really bad against large mobs of enemies (especially with the last rune which deals the best damage), while Sweep attack is quite bad for chasing and single-target damage. Not an issue for team games where you can specialize in something, but it seems like they synergize quite well solo.

I guess you could but I'm not a huge fan of it. Still I'm curious enough to try it. I've seen someone on PTR run a Roland with Cindercoat, as you can imagine he speced bash to fire damage and he had pretty good aoe and single target due to the bracer.

You're right in the most superficial way possible, but if you have this attitude then every build/set on every class is just the same style of play... There might be a couple Tal builds that are similarly run-away and kite style, but there are also some interesting melee range builds and a ton of variety (some preference and some situational) on the skills being used to call down the meteors. It's plenty of variety compared to Firebird for the past seasons.

This was in a rift. The map layout was the Act 3 Tower map, which is why I referenced it.
The fastest way to pl, I believe is having the low level create t6 games and do halls clears. I used to do those in 30-40m last season. However, Lv70 T6 rifts (assuming your lv1 has tokens) is overall more enjoyable and only marginally slower (if you get bad rifts) or relatively equal if you get nice rifts. The best part of using real lv70 t6 rifts is that the runners are at least getting something out of it, even if it takes a tiny bit longer. It obviously takes more power to carry lv70 t6 rifts for people and this early in the season it's not really practical unless you've sunk 30+ hours already in the first 3 days.
I watched mannercookie get pl'd in l70 t6 rifts last night and it took him 3 rifts, a monk solo'd the rifts for him and his character was completely naked, no gem of ease, no gem in helm etc.,
At any rate, my DH is super close to being t6 ready and could probably start doing t6 power levels soon. RNG pls.

Played so much D3 ._.
I made it to para 170, Crusader, Hardcore.
I have the full akkhan set and Drakon's but still miss good jewelery. I went for a block build first (50% base) but now I've removed the helm for full akkan. Still have the 16% ring.
I did GR lvl 22 solo, at the time I was ranked 52

Are you in the liquid guild scDeluX? We definitely need more HC players!
I only made it to p80 this weekend and I'm 5/6 UE set (pls rng, stop shadow set) but got a decent ancient weapon and random pieces. Hopefully tonight I'll finish off my set and get to T6 grinding/gem leveling in 25+.

You just need to stack more RCR to make up for the missing Cindercoat (should note that Pride's Fall with Maelstrom or Shooting Stars is better for damage in the first place, though). Either that or run Convention of Elements.

Note if I get Focus and Restraint I won't be able to use Pride's Fall either. But I guess that answers my question if Malestrom is better then I should focus on getting a Pride's fall.

I bought it, but crusader is the only new content I could try yet. Having fun with it so far.
But what should be the first thing once I reached lvl 70?
edit: oh, and I hate how in game skill descriptions have no numbers. if blizz thinks it would be ugly and too rar, then just put it in a different tab or something.

This is what I've been doing. Under the right conditions I can keep it up, but usually run into a dead spot in GRifts.
My build / gear for reference: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Char-1330/hero/60360632

edit: oh, and I hate how in game skill descriptions have no numbers. if blizz thinks it would be ugly and too rar, then just put it in a different tab or something. once you reach lvl 70, the best way to gear is to do rifts until you get a greater rift key. once you get the GR key, play through to the end of the rift, but do not kill the greater rift guardian. note the time left before you exit the GR. play bounties at the highest level you can play while waiting for the timer to go down to less than 4 minutes. once it does, go back into GR, kill the guardian. when the lady pops up, upgrade the key. it should go one level up if you waited long enough. rinse and repeat. you will get legendary items and all of the legendary gems. plus, you will get bounty bags.
also, trick to the teleport. when you tp from greater rift, in order not to lose that tp right next to the guardian, make sure you never use a tp again. so, when you do bounties, use the map to teleport to new bounties or teleport back to town. do not use the tp key. then, when you are ready to fight guardian, use map to get back to town, go into your tp and its in the greater rift. if you dont do this, you have to run the whole rift until you find guardian.
once you are semigeared and have all the gems, just do rifts at the highest level you can do to get better gear. once you have decent gear, you can start leveling up your gems in greater rifts.
edit: i should add that the bounties should be done on t1 or higher. that way you have a chance at torment level exclusive drops.

I've used this tact this season (paragon ~85) and had amazing luck on legendary drops doing the greater rift crawl...too bad I was getting stuff that works for every class but WD though! 8( Works great on getting easy drops though.
