I gave a pair of those away because I didn't realise how useful the proc could be for things like conduit pylons etc. Hoping for another pair to drop

I didn't realize how lucky I was with the Armguards until I played with it for a while, on Crusader its such a godtier item.

I have no idea where he gets that idea and he provides no evidence to back it up. The other part of his post (talking about joining a lower level game to get the lower level legendaries, but gambling them so they are still lvl 70) makes sense though and it's easy to test the validity of it (do you ever get a higher level legendary from gambling?).

even if eveything he says would be true, i dont see the use of it. for someone who only has one key, it would require a friend that levels a new char to exactly the desired, low level and then opens games for you to join. in each such game, you then have to kill tons of mobs until you can be sure that the desired legendary is in the loot table. only then you can spend your bloodshard....

so basically, it would cost you and a friend of yours hours upon hours of playtime just to be able to spend 500 bloodshards on the desired legendary with something like 5-10 times higher chance than usual. i really doubt this is worth it unless you get lucky by quickly finding a game with the desired loot table.

even if the scenario is possible i can't imagine what horrendous evidence the guy will put up in support of it.

since i don't see a reasonable process of investigation to obtain the theory, it's most likely random retard theory that only got noticed because he typed a lot of shit and made conspiracy minded people more confident in their prior

Need to know how exatly Blizz picks a random number. Which we don't, i don't think.

There was a concept of "sticky" random number generators a loooonnng time ago, and I can remember where I read it. Way before my vanilla WoW days. Taken as a whole, everything would be random but there would be streaks, or you could see a pattern.

The 2nd picture is a visualisation of what I call a "sticky" RNG.

The Reddit post basically explains the theory: you enter a game and each of your item slot randomly generates a set of legs that is a subset of the leg universe. It's a pretty hilarious read, especially when people are claiming this is done because the table cannot handle more than 6-9 entries at a time...

I dont get why people keep referencing this as a fact, and Im also really curious how the guy actually came up with all this stuff because all I see are words all based on the assumption that the theory is absolute fact.

to me it doesnt make any sense at all, why set up a more complicated system just to piss people off more?

sure but given # of drop events in question the texture of rng should not matter if it's at that level.
