I don't think 1 week is enough of a test and Blizzard does not rush thing that bad just because another game is coming out.

They put the PTR up because of PoE coming out. Usually they release an actual patch but they must be so far behind that they only got the ptr up in time to counter PoE.

I realise that it will get a bit graphically complicated with many players at the same time, but we wouldn't have bothered at all, we just wanted to play a bit with our friends for fun. We would have been fine with a bit lower framrates as well! Jay Wilson, why couldn't you allow us players to ourselves decide how many players are to many in a game? > : (

Anyway, I agree, D3 should allow up to at least 6+ players (I think they can support 6 players on the UI at leas). The reason why is because Blizzard knows better than you.... It's a silly reason and I remember posting about it before. Also to people who say it's no efficient to play with 6 players or more in pubs or something (because of leechers or problems)... I play pubs to show off my uber 1337 gear, not to progress (I play solo almost 99% of the time, the only time I ever group if is for ubers and that's because the machine system, if I could have 3 portals using 1 machine, I'd never party). It's too bad for Jay Wilson though. The game's foundations are great but a few key issues like itemization (the legendary effects are still weak and people still go for pure stats on most equipment... I mean there's no item diversity, you usually see people using the same stuff. No one uses a 2handed weapon other than Skorn for example), skill diversity and variety of builds (nearly every Monk uses FoT with Thunderclap because it's much better than the other primaries, and Wizards have only two builds, CM/WW or Archon). 4 players in a group is also another issue that is keeping D3 from being a great game. Again, the main reason they limited to 4 is because they felt more than 4 may have been too cluttered. D2 did fine with 8 players (yes, 8 players at one spot, you can't tell what is going on but it's at least fun). Besides, no one plays coop or party seriously anyway, it's just for fun. So Rob Pardo made a post and it turns out Jay Wilson isn't actually moved to a lesser project or anything, he's being kept. I actually think that's a good idea. D3 has a lot of good foundations, it just I felt they lacked a balancing team or Quality Assurance team (or people that read the "class" forums and take note that builds people are using, and how to add more diverse builds). _______________________________ Beside that though, I just came here to reconfirm that they definitely did ban botters again. The easiest way to check if they banned botters or not is to check the price of gold find gear. Yesterday, I just sold a 14% (which isn't that high, 25% is the max for rings I think) gold find ring for 40k! Before (3-4 weeks before when I last checked) they were just vendor trash (just 3-5k in the AH). Also I sold a 22% gold find ring for 300k (it was like 20-30k). Also I sold a gold find (24%) + pickup radius (7) belt for 2 million. Before they were (again), vendor trash. So yeah, that's a good way to find out if Blizzard banned botters or not. Most botters are just gold find bots that stack as much gold find gear as possible and just farm in the lower difficulties. When gold find gear in general sky rockets in price, that's when you know Blizzard has done it! (Also that's one of the reasons gold on the RMAH has increased in price. They banned a decent amount of botters which removed a huge bank of gold.)

For example, check out this stream: http://www.twitch.tv/anacletus_ii (a gentleman of TL that isn't on the sidebar). The characters look the same, the interface is the same to the font and colours, and you run around killing monsters for items where the dungeons are randomly generated. Anyone know why Blizz hasn't copyrighted the developers back to the stone age? The PoE devs have been quoted many times as saying that their game is what the sequel to D2 should have been. From my limited play experience, the engine is far inferior to d3, but the itemization, talent tree, currency system and such are all very progressive and unique. Tons of customization and depth in all the ways D3 is missing... However, D3 is a much better looking game and the physics and gameplay are much more consistent and smooth.

Hope they implement most of the stuff PoE has, I like PoE but being unable to animation-cancel sux. And it's not as smooth as D3.

Very bold words; when I look at PoE, of course it's PoE and not Diablo so fans will give it more slack =p. From what I've seen, I'm pretty sure the talents are going to be a nightmare to balance / tune. Hopefully they're up to the task. I think the way they instance dungeons is pretty cool; reminds me of how Spiral Knights does things. If it's an open beta I may have to give it a try.
