It's also implied that you go double hellfire with this, to get the maximum xp bonus. Cain's set works well ok at low MP levels if you have solid gear in the other slots, particularly if you can burst down elites in a few seconds at the most. Even better, you can do elite skipping runs where you skip all elites after 5 stacks (or sometimes ignore elites altogether) to maximize your time spent killing trash. This will probably net you the most XP gain possible, but at the expense of item farming. | ||

I do have a Cain's set, and I did get higher experience doing the types of elite skipping runs I described, but that was with a WW barb which is well suited to running past anything you can't handle in low end gear. I imagine that it's harder to do successfully with a wizard running an archon build. Regardless, I didn't use that Cain's set very much in my leveling, my preference was normal or MF gear. | ||

just out of curiosity, which 3 pieces do you guys use for cain's? i go helm/gloves/pants and replace my bracers with a lacunis to maintain 24% ms (lose 12 from replacing inna's pants) | ||

Did some simple calculations, and going from a 25% gem to a 31% nets a 2.48% effective XP bonus. Base XP Bonus = 75% NV, 35% HF, 7% HF.follower, 31% Gem = 248% XP With a 20% Leorics = 268% XP = +8.06% effective XP bonus With a 30% Leorics = 278% XP = +12.1% effective XP bonus With a 30% Leorics + 20% Leoric on Follower = 282% XP = +13.7% effective XP bonus With a 30% Leorics + 30% Leoric on Follower = 284% XP = +14.5% effective XP bonus + Show Spoiler + ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/HzcCb.png) Feel free to correct my math. It's early in the morning here. But spending actual $ to speed up leveling speed a few % at the cost dps/mf/fun isn't that attractive to me. The Free Hellfire x2 is enough for me! Plus what are you going to do at Plvl 100? Stop playing that character. Edit: Hadn't checked prices on Leoric's in a few months, I guess the 20% go for only 15m now, so I guess it's not too bad. You could get a very good dps+mf ring for that though. | ||
