Haha yea, D3 paid for itself since I signed up (and didnt pay for the WoW annual pass) so after 2 months of 'free' diablo 3, my license was suspended, but I had already sold enough on the RMAH to buy the license back (MSRP even -_-) Too bad US folks can't buy much with Blizz Balance still vs other regions >_<

You can only buy digital games in EU, too. You can't even buy WoW Gametime (not that I would).

Just wondering if anybody has a good farming route that isn't focused on xp gain but on item farming. Most guides and routes i've seen are specialized on max xp gain per hour, but i would prefer max elite kills per hour.

Do Vault in Act2 mp5, the mob density is pretty high there
|
Just wondering why mp5? Since the higher mp you go the less efficient elite farming strategy becomes, compared to trash farming, since +items bonus from the mp levels is only applied to trash mobs and not elites?
|
Anything above mp3 is really inefficient if you don't have like 250k+ dps..
|
act 3 is best for items and xp.
|
yeah but act II VotA is a nice alternative regardless. Some mobs are reaaally annoying though.
|
Tried act2 elite farming, managed to kill 15 elite packs and 4 goblins in 7 min on mp1, . will have to compare it to some act 3 routes, to see if it is worth it.
|
Looks like Mr.error 73 is coming back on EU ! They say their servers are up on battle.net tho.
|
Act 3 drops better items than Act 2. Or at least it was the old days I was playing. Have no idea about now but i havent yet seen a good item drop in act 2.
|
now as long as you play on monster power 1 its the same drops

yep. get 5stacks and then just clear the areas with high mob density. got atleast 50-60% of my legendarys from white monsters. plus last 4-5 all random monsters.

hi I have a question I was a huge D2 fan, played it a lot and was psyched w8ing for D3. Then finally D3 came, but I just played the first 1-2 month and I still can`t tell why, what makes it so different from the d2-feeling. I assume that it is me, who changed, but maybe you know better, since it has been quite some time since the start.
I know that I don`t like the skilling system. It`s noob-friendlier, since you can easily switch between builds. You don`t have to think about stats, which was a important factor in d2. I also know that I don`t like the AH. Selling and buying items was an ongoing thing in d2, too, but in D3 it is not like an "underground" thing and much more common. You cannot ignore it. Another little thing: Gold was worthless in D2. It shouldn`t make a big difference, but trading items vs items, instead of gold is more interesting imo. These are little things and the game developed since I stopped playing, is there a big thing I am missing.
|
Itemization is the main problem, it is unforgivable. Skill system, AH etc have pros and cons.
|
It sounds like what you liked about D2 was the community.
You had to find other people to trade items; you had talk to them to agree on how much; ect.
Gameplay wise D3 is more social than D2 though - people used to play D2 on /player 8 so they could get all the drops; which is a problem D3 solved at least... then broke the pug-ing aspect by making MP disabled in public games.
The new skill trees could use some more diversity for sure. Not saying D2 had a ton of builds; but it was easier to bruteforce your way through IMO; but the MP system allows you to mess around more. I think being able to respec is a huge improvement in D3 - leveling a Barb over and over again just because you found a new uber weapon was not my idea of fun. But I do agree that you lose that 'sub-class' feeling. Like saying I have a Hammerdin or Trappasin, ect.
I feel like the attributes just gave the illusion of choice (since you only but the bare minimum you needed for armor/weapons) and a lot of the early skills were the same way; just fuel for your power skills (at least after they put in synergies). But again, the lack of build diversity in D3 means it's not really an improvement in how many skills you use.

You even got fighter/melee sorcs in d2... I think this unspec thing is bigger than you may think. For some players there were no way, that they would level a new char just because they don`t have the really best skilling. They would live with that, and be (little clichee) even more bound with their char. Also there were builds, which were good for chars with low items, and more difficult builds, which required good items to work. So all in all the difference in diversity is huge, imo. In D2 you had more things to do... Will I go for a MF-Run with my sorc. When I am bored, I can level my Mainchar (level 60 is a joke by comparison), or I even may try a new build with a new char...
Despite all that, I think I was blind and didn`t see the problem with the items, which was mentioned. The more I think about it the more I feel that it is big and could be the main reason, but it just made click and I will have to think a while about that.

Just wondering if you people are familial with the achievement set appeal. Was trying to get this achievement today for the zuni set, had all the pieces equipped but it didn't work. About half an hour later when i gave up, i went farming and a immortal kings helm dropped, when i picked it up i got the achievement set apeal but for the immortal set 0_0, never played a barb, or had even a single piece of that set equipped. Just wondering am i missing something about this achievement, since i don't seem to understand it?
