There are more things to do in game now actually, so you might want to check that out at least. There are more things to come as well of course, like PvP which hopefully will be out in the new month or so....
All the things you listed in D2 you can do in D3. Archon-mode Wizard to speed clear A3, level a Monk to take on MP 10... and of course at lvl 60 you effectively have a respec / game (since you don't want to lose NV).
I do agree to an extent about itemization. There aren't items that really cater towards viable builds. 300th Spear is an example; but in D2 you could get a whole slew of items that buffed I dunno, Thunderstorm (I played a Storm Sorc for fun at one point) or whatever you wanted to try out. And there's pretty much no way to get a skills from other classes like you could in D2 (although I hardly remember if that was viable or not).
I could rant a lot about why I gave up on D2 several times (I played a ton around vanilla launch, LoD launch, then when runewords were buffed); but my experience is probably not the same as yours and you obviously like D2 a lot more than me, and I liked it enough to pre-order D3 too. But some of the things you're saying are only in D2 are actually in D3.
Itemization took a gigantic watering-down though, which in turn might be what's limiting build diversity, for example Thowing Barbs can be pretty good but their gear is so stupidly expensive would you really call that diversity?
But some of that is skills too, but items would go a lot towards mixing things up.

You could respec at akara in act 1, three times in game. And farm parts from bosses to do it aswell. Besides a lot of players used things like plugY etc, was not as big a deal as you make it seem.

this achievement is very odd indeed... i got it when i found inna's vast expanse (monk set chest) with my DH, i had only inna's temperance equipped at that moment, and had the helmet and belt from the set in my chest. the daibo dropped twice for me but i sold both a long time ago.
first i thought it counts drops, but inna's temperance never dropped for me, got that from the AH. so somehow this achievement counts the ownership of an item, even if you discard or sell it the hidden box for every piece of gear remains checked.

Started playing again but have no one to run anything with :[. Looking for people to just play the game with, currently I am leveling up a barbarian, level 25 atm in act 3 normal. The achievement triggers when you have had all pieces for the given set picked up. Doesn't have to be on the same time, and doesn't have to be selffound

Did theyn lower droprate of keys? Didnt play for a month and started again today, 1/11 runs gave me a key on mp5. Doesnt seem like 50% any more.

It happens I once went keyless at 14 odd runs at mp 5/6/7 (calculate the odds of that happening lol), and at the same time I've killed the warden for lols at mp1 and got 3 keys out of three times, straight. . Rng is rng :/

Random is random... Seems possible.
0.00537109375 to get 1 key (0,5%)

1/14 now, cant wait for the time when Im gonna get 13/14. Im sure it will happen.
Edit: 1/15, really, fuk this game.

The chance that you get no key in like 10+ tries on MP5 is nearly zero, are you sure that you kill the mob with 5 Stacks of NV?

Yes of course, and yes I know its impossible. Only reason I didnt give up long ago is becos I was planning to do infernal machines with friends so need 3 machines for tonight. Thats not gonna happen :p

Any one else feel like the drop rates for legendaries was lowered? I was getting about 5 every hour on sunday and now i only find 1 every 2 hours if I'm lucky. Probably just bad rng but I'm paranoid as hell.
Edit: Of course i get 3 legendaries in one run after posting this cause thats how rng works.

Ok guys, false alarm. I increased mp to 7 and first I didnt get one but then finally 2/17 is a little better. Im never playing act 2 again though worst act.
|
blizzard addressed this. no, they have not changed drop rates. you're getting screwed by rng. your numbers are implausible, but not impossible.
|
I had something similar if not worse about 2 weeks ago
would be nice if RNG had some symmetry to it :/
|
Yeah, I was getting a pretty consistent average of 1 legendary or somewhat sellable item per run, then I decided to sacrifice some damage to max out my magic find (up from 220), and then have found 1 legendary in the last 6 runs.... thanks RNG!

If you're worried so much about RNG just do the key runs on MP10
