Not sure what the other guy is doing; if he's literally doing nothing but VotA then that's not going to be as efficient.

And monsterDrakar, I'm not certain, but I think what you're describing may be the effect of killing a mob w/ a weapon or skill that uses holy damage. It can not be turned off as far as I'm aware, never turned down graphics settings though, but not using holy damage isn't really an issue. Actually after rereading your post come to think of it there is that effect when you just hit a mob. I don't think it can be turned off, but again I never played with the graphical settings other than to turn them all to max.

Similarly with black canyon, the two groups are often right next to the waypoint, and sometimes a third one comes up on the top right. Alcarnus again very small area with atleast 2-3. So now you've already got 5 stacks up, and whole vault ahead of you to get good stuff. The otherway around, your going to use a good portion of vota for getting your stacks, and then spend time going from place to place to put the stacks to use. doing just vota....I dont see the point of it. Atleast go to the key warden after that :p

in a2 the only other run-viable map, for lack of a better term, is maybe cave of the betrayer and even then it stinks because you have to run through desolate sands to find it. oasis/desolate sands are horrible maps to include in a farming route because the amount of mobs you get for how much you have to run around is absurdly bad pure vota runs is just like a1 cota or a3 keeps 2 runs. you're sacrificing loot, but the exp will often beat out any full run due to the design of the maps being run over and over (linearity/mob density) whereas a run requires running through bad exp maps solely for the elite kills. for the record, i'm not saying pure vota runs are good considering items should be prioritized. was just pointing out that they're great for exp and not pointless by any means. besides, it's still all RNG. i've gotten plenty of great legendaries from pure vota runs when i used to do them while watching GSL (now i just flip AH instead :p)

Then the option to make it a full A2 run was to toss in Dalghur Oasis and the two zones around Khasim to look for dungeons (Ruins, Flooded Cave, Crumbling Vault, Khan Dakab, Sardars, Fisherman's Cave and whatever event may be playing in the two dessert tiles). Which as you mentioned often isn't ideal; although Dalghur does have the keywarden now, so it's more of a consolation prize than waste of time. Honestly, I'd never thought to just run VotA by itself since it kinda seemed like a waste of all those mobs to do it without NV; also Sewers, Cistern and Black Canyon all are goblin spawn points (maybe people don't care as much about those now, I dunno). But you are right, nice compact runs have their time and place and sometimes quantity > quality. Sometimes I wish D3 had addons WoW style, so we could get something to track this. But oh well; I'm key farming for the foreseeable future anyways.

If you don't have 5 stacks just port to black canyon for 2-3 more. Finally alcarnus lower half has guaranteed 1-2 stacks very close to the wp. Sounds perfect, ty ![]()

Is it really overheating? If so how could it be fixed? I even downloaded some program called CPUID hardware monitor that is supposed to monitor your computers temp, but I forgot to run it when it froze just now.

But yeah soj seems to work on everything except whites, so I would say its much better than any other ring offensively, especially one with cold damage.

I'm leaning toward the conclusion the computer is overheating somehow. It froze after 5-15mins Diablo (once when mostly using the AH) but I am able to play for hours when I have a fan behind my computer blowing into it. Just now I played without a fan to test it, noticed it slowly down put on the fan but it ended up freezing up anyways. Is it really overheating? If so how could it be fixed? You should post in tech support; but those are the symptoms of an overheating cpu (the random freezing and crashing part, not to mention how it goes away when you add in a fan).

This sounds like a problem with your case fans. Make sure your case fans are working. You should have a fan in the front sucking air in, and a fan or two in the back blowing air out. If you are using an external fan to help cool your computer, make sure you are blowing into the induction fan, not the exhaustion fan.

I swear I've bid on some gloves that were canceled, and appeared the next day with a buyout this time. My bids just show the item expired, which it didn't because I know roughly how much time was left and it wasn't close. Yea happened to me a few times pre-patch. Worked against me mostly. Happened in my favor once tho, so it wasn't too bad. =D Can't really tell whether it's an ah bug or exploit...
