Not sure if this helps but for me(level 22 200+ base mf), the more you play and faster you kill stuff = more chances at legendaries, and by "the more you play," I mean playing like 5 straight hours in a day, and not 10 separate hours in a week. I was really busy at school but I still play for like 1-2 hours a day everyday and I got nothing. Now that the semester's over, I've been getting browns/greens within a few hours of each other.
Edit, to guy below: Yeah, the game is kinda bad and boring, but I don't think we can blame Blizzard for each and everyone's droprates. It's not like they're giving us different drop rates.
Edit:

I really doubt you're plvl66 have 300+ mf and haven't gotten at least 1 legendary/set item... Maybe you did a couple of times, and they were all terrible so you decided to exaggerate a lot just to QQ more on forums. Link to your profile?

Doesn't help for me. 600 hours played // Plvl 66 // 365 MF and I kill stuff pretty fast but the damn sets just don't drop and its making me feel bored. Wonder if I will ever find a set item even. Is the RMAH this important to Blizzard really?

There's also the possibility that you might have missed items, either clearing too quickly and trash mobs drop these legendary items, or the stupid brown color blends into the terrain. I nearly missed picking up a fiery brimstone because of the latter.
Well sometimes when you pick up legendary items, you get all your hopes up and then you see that it's a ilvl60 item.

I would have noticed cuz I have no trouble spotting that bloodstained letter ;D

And I don't play D3 at all and I get the same result. GG :D

Yeah I am not doing that every single run. I am just saying I don't have trouble spotting that. But I think i'll be the first plvl100 with no set drop ;P

I've had a terrible dry period for the last two weeks. Got my mf down a bit while upgrading my gear, but it's hovering around 260% with NV +-10% all the time, but drops in the last 2 weeks were abyssmal. Pre dry period I regularly had at least one legendary drop per a 60ish % a3 clear (bunker -> battlefields -> fields of slaughter -> rakkis -> siegebreker and stonefort + keep depths if I don't get bored). Last two weeks it's been about 1 legendary per 6-7 runs and all of those were utter < lvl61 crap.
My moneys for 1.05 are very very slim, and the rng gods are cruel to me.

so I stopped playing D3 for a month when Barbs were severely underpowered just to come back this week to find most people QQ about barbs being face-rolling OP? What???
|
The crazy Whirlwind Barb build was discovered, that's what happened.

Lookin' like 1.05 will be released tomorrow.

Yea, everyone's personal loot drop rate is never as good as they want. Especially the balance between DPS and MF. I've always geared towards the MF side and that has usually gimped my DPS. Plvls have allowed me to drop MF peices as I try to keep the 300% cap, but my DPS is still low. Actually got a crappy-but-not-usless Legendary to drop (Grand Vizier) for my Sorc and it bumped my 5NV MF to 398%. I usually run solo partial A3 run - Keep 3, 1 for 5 stacks, Cy > Az (only towers), then do whatever maps until I get bored. Average around 1 legendary per 3 partial runs. But nothing valuable has dropped in a few weeks, and I found I was making more $ just flipping stuff between AHs. (I focused on Skull Grasps for a while, and still play the Nats Mark weekend cycle)
Since 1.05 will probably land tomorrow, I'll unfortunately will want to ID almost every rare >_< In 1.04 usually pick up high lvl rares, ignore the lower rares, and pick up all blues to vendor. Iding the the annoying part, and finding jeweler patterns in your inventory is always a nice surprise heh. But I'm sure I"ll be more frustrated with Hellfire Ring related crap than shitty drops. I have a set of 'non-MF' sustain-focused gear stashed up for that specifically, and really debated buying a new Amulet even with the lower prices, but couldn't pull the trigger as 1.05 will have up to 959 LoH and 11% ias on them. Oh well. Lets hope the servers will stay up!

Since 1.0.4 I drop a legendary every 3.5 hours on average, but I got nothing for 20-30 hours in a row, twice. For 10 days I dropped tons of legendary crap, then I found a 340mil witching hour. RNG is RNG.
|
I just found tals armor with 100mf, RNG is def RNG

so when you say the patch is tomorrow, does that mean tuesday 12:01 am or tuesday 11:59 pm?

Yesterday my gf found shenlong from a dead demon corpse. I bet Shenlong was fighting for diablo.

Well, time to revive this thread about my first thoughts of 1.05...
It's trolling me. Within the first 15 Warrior's Rest runs, I got 2 legendaries. Granted, both were crap. Then, did 100+ more of them, got nothing (not even rares worth auctioning). Then I did 4-5 MP2 A4 runs to find infernal machine plans, didn't find it. Each run takes forever due to the lack of elites, and that place is just so chaotic it's really difficult to run it at high MPs. Well at least once you get the plan, you don't need to do this damned run anymore.
Oh yeah, despite getting 10 or more inventories full of rare items, I've only seen a single rare amulet, and a few blue rings/amulets sprinkled in. It's like they shifted the decimal point (in the wrong direction) of jewelry drop rates.. Also 2 rare sources, 0 mojos and too many quivers..
|
4 A4 MP5 runs for plans, about 8 Act 2 runs, no keys. I hate rng.
1 set - Zuni Mask 1 Leg - Skorn
Both crap rolls but its a few hundred k at least!
|
Lets see. I did maybe 10 or 15 runs tonight. Got 2 plans. 2 Act3 keys, 1 Act2 Key, 1 Act1 Key, and 2 Legendaries. Inquisitor and Stormshield.
