In my experience its just the same stuff... loot is still really bad and the game feels like one unrewarding piece of crap still :D You can put so much time in it without being able to improve your character and that makes me wonder if all is worthwile or not. Will give it another week ![]() Loot is slightly improved and with Paragon you will be getting more of it faster the higher you level it. game is fine, it's just not for everyone.

Guess I just have to farm gold and xp and hope for that one in a million drop. Trouble is apart from legendaries and high dps weapons, I'm not even that sure what the threshold for a worthwhile item is.

"Paragon" and "faster" have no place being in the same sentence. And your last sentence could apply to everything. "E.T. is fine, it's just not for everyone".

The higher your Paragon level, the faster your primary objective is completed: killing demons and undead stuff to find cool things, with a higher chance of obtaining those cool things each time you gain a Paragon level. It's very straightforward, really.

Meaning it takes forever to get paragon levels, not that Paragon levels will slow down your MF runs etc. -.- Edit: Also I nearly spit my beer out all over my keyboard after reading your name XD Ohh the irony....

Thank you :D Yeah, I really wasn't sure how to read it, so I just said it a different way to cover my bases. I guess Paragon levels can feel like they take a while, but playing for fun with a friend passes the time pretty easily and gets you that XP righteous quick. I play relatively infrequently and am at level 6 or 7 with it. To boot, I even found a nice pair of shoulders for my monk alt! Just saying that the OP of the quote nest seemed like maybe this game wasn't for him/her if he/she hasn't found it fun since 1.0.3 or whatever changes ruined it (hell, maybe the game was ruined for him/her from the very start). Ergo, like I said before, this game isn't for everyone.

I actually just started playing again after they added the paragon levels and buffed drops etc. I've been having fun the last couple of days, though I have to admit the grind is starting to get quite boring again to me... I've gone back to the point just before I stopped playing last time where I just login, check my auctions then log out T.T Which sucks I love the diablo series but this game just can't keep my interest so far... Ahh well, like you said, just not for everyone!

So when I put down 30M, the current bid put me in the lead, and bumped it up to 23M. I figured okay cool, hopefully I'll get them below 30M and get some of my money back. Sure enough, no one else bid til the auction closed. Was thinking...ok sweet, 30M was just my cap, but I won it at 23M, so I'll get 7M back. Nope! Charged me the full 30M even though the bid was only pushed up to 23M...lol. Had no idea it worked that way! It makes me reconsider outright putting up what I would at max pay since I could have just edged my bid up til I passed the previous high-bidder and stopped at 23M, saving me 7M On September 01 2012 20:37 Monkeyballs25 wrote: I had a slightly horrifying moment when I finally started researching AH prices(I'm two paragon levels into Inferno, just hit 60), and realised how worthless all the stuff I've collected is. Trouble is apart from legendaries and high dps weapons, I'm not even that sure what the threshold for a worthwhile item is. I'd say for armors/jewelry the threshold for a sure-seller is a piece with 3+ useful stats, moderate-to-highly rolled in value. E.g. Ring: decent crit/crit dmg/main stat -or- Pants: Good All Res, 2 sockets, decent Vit/Main stat

It only bumps the bid in set increments at a time, from what I've noticed. For example, let's say the bid was currently 19M. Let's say another person has a maximum bid in place for 22.7M. You decide the maximum you're willing to pay is 30M, so you enter that. The AH will then bump the current bid up to ~23M, placing you in the lead because 30M > 23M; your max is greater than his. But the other guy does not necessarily know your maximum bid -- he only knows that his maximum was surpassed. So how will he know to enter in 29.5M, thereby just barely losing on purpose (spitefully) and causing you to pay near your maximum bid? Another thing I don't quite get is how it bumped the bid up to exactly 30M in my case (isn't there a minimum value the bid can increase each round?). Wouldn't it be more likely to have ended on, say 29.XX mil? Is there an exception to a minimum increase? Say he entered 29.99M as his final maximum bid -- would that enable the bid to then increase by only 10K (something normally not allowed), thereby allowing my 30M maximum to win the bid? Maybe i'm just totally misunderstanding something here ha

Er, they don't know what you max bid, so they can't drive it up just to spite you. For all they know, you're already at your max, which means that if they put in another bid, they might end up in the lead, and suddenly their "troll bid" just trolled themselves.

First, buyers' willingness to pay goes up when there is only a limited time to make decisions. Imagine you were willing to pay 30M for those firewalkers but the bid when it's 10 seconds left goes up to 31M. You'd probably be like "ah heck it i'll just bid 32M and I might just win then I wouldn't have to think about this upgrade anymore" (since 2M is quite insignificant compared to the total bid). Also, bidding at the last minute lets you win auctions you shouldn't. Not everyone bids at the last moment, but imagine someone else willing to pay 40M for those boots but figured he might save some gold so he bids 25M and leads the auction since you had not bid yet. Time passes and its 3s left (use a stopwatch), you go in with a bid of 30M, he panicks and tries to outbid you but guess what: Auction has Expired.
