I can't answer you exactly, I can give You and example. I've just played through Act 1 with a new char with my friends who just started. And it was as follows. My barb friend was lvl 7 and I've joined him with brand new WD, he was just finding the templar guy. And our game joined another friend 14lvl wizard. We did Barb "game" I've automatically finished all the quests and had town portal at level 1. As far XP goes, it all smoothed out. Barb was leveling as normal, I was catching up very fast and wizard was leveling very slowly. In Act 2, it was basically all leveled out. Wizard gained 2lvls to 16, barb was 14 and I was 13. | ||

What I think happens is that the higher levels just level more slowly, the lower levels won't gain more xp. So the xp you gain ydeer will remain the same, but what your friend gains will be severely lowered. | ||

Don't think it matter much since on Inferno everything will just one-shot squishy anyway. If he actually did it, mass prop for him! | ||
