FML. Just found out that I played since the beginning on NA server, while I thought I was on EU. I played with 2 friends who started shortly before me. And as I could add them without problems I was sure I was on EU, didnt even think about it further. Now as I wanted to add someone else from Europe it didnt work, and we found out I was on the wrong server.
So annoying, all my progress (2 lvl 25 chars) gone because I have to restart on EU. Same for my friends.
Does blizzard allocate Europeans automatically to the NA server or how is this shit possible?

You might want to trade out for bats if you're in a narrow area though.
Because they're very mana intensive.

My friend just had the exact same shit happen, hes from NA, but he was defaulted to EU for some reason, so when i was trying to add him to my friends list, it wasnt. Looked it up, told him to check his region, and he was on EU, god only knows why. So he also lost a lvl 15 monk, because blizzard cant detect where your from or something, im confused as to why this happens, like, 10 hrs down the drain for my buddy, and many more hours for you im sure, its total garbage, how Blizz fucked that one up, i dont know.

You should only have to cast Locust once. It bounces to everything around it.

You probably pre-downloaded the wrong client. I had the same problem except I'm from the US and I downloaded the EU client. Luckily I started playing before global was active so I got a no license error and realized the issue.

Yea I just hit 55 with my DH and found the most effective weapon for leveling was 2h bows until you get Sharpsoother then it is 2h crossbows. Gotta love walking up to a group and oneshotting them with a 15K+ crit. I could see DW being nice for rage spamming but I find it really really tough to kite that fast on certain boss battles. If you are dual wielding, you are sacrificing damage for speed. If you are moving, that means you need to stutter-step and not miss any attacks. Easy with big ol crossbow, tough with two handbows.
Edit: Oh my god lvl 55 has to be the best level ever. I went from failing hard at Hell to roflstomping most any encounter. Rockets ftw.

Did you play the open beta and did you change your preferences to USA at that time to be able to login succesfully? That's what I did at the beta, and now after release I started a USA char first as well. Luckily I found out at about level 10, so the time investment wasn't big. But this is something that should have been more clear in the UI indeed. I did notice I had less lag in EU server though!

I just gota say, I love this game really good so far.
Its kind of nice that I never played d1 or d2 because I dont have to worry about all of the comparisons and "what was good back then' had that problem alot with sc2 and BW.
I can not fucking wait for DH PvP, going to be so much fun Vaulting around laying traps and stutter stepping.

How do you deal with the immunity bubble one (the one where only one doesn't have an infinite bubble)?
That and any affix that does damage (arcane orbs, molten, etc) is basically impossible for me ><

I sold 19 items on the AH, bought 2 and made quite a profit but all is going to upgrade Blacksmith and Jewelcrafting and now I am nearly broke.

The strategies people use in the inferno streams make me sad. No one using things like familiar, sentry, hydra, etc that deal constant damage while you can run around.
DH has a ton of such good abilities. Traps can be placed where you want and even caltrops with the damage rune does recent damage (you can stack them so 3x40% weapon damage for 6 seconds + slow).
Instead everyone seems to just try to use direct damage skills and usually end up getting wiped.

the eu auction house is really nice, not many people playing the market game, so there are some really cheap useful items in there.
just bought a 300 dps crossbow fith a socket for 10k for just level 52, cant even craft something like that.

Is it worth it to salvage normal items? I think I read that they removed the ability to convert materials into higher level materials, and the random drops I'm wearing are enough to easily clear everything I've seen so far (wizard, mid-way through A3 normal). I have like 400 subtle essences in my stash, and am starting to worry that I should have been selling all those blues instead...

Chances are you should have. On the US server the crafting materials are worth about 20-30 gold each. Even the rare things aren't much more than that

That makes no sense and you know it, how exactly is motlen easier for melee than ranged? It is literally a melee range skill.

I think i made the same mistake. The yellow salvage mats cost just 20g on the auction house. You can sell a yellow item to merchants for about 200g.
So I think from now on the best route is to sell unwanted magic items on AH or to merchant and just buy materials on AH.

What the fuck, i cant even do a quest cause i keep getting disconnected and having to restart. its definetly not my internet

I predicted that early on in the game, gold will be worth a lot, and mats not very much. This is because people will mostly be leveling their first characters. You have to pump all the gold sinks once (stash space, jeweler, blacksmith) and then won't have to on future characters, meaning that there's high demand for gold early.
Once people are leveling their second and 3rd characters is when components will start to be worth more. This is because people won't need gold to re-level the gold sinks, while the demand for mats will increase. As a whole there will be more gold in the system once the majority of players have leveled their gold sinks adequately.

Just finished the game on normal. As a Barbarian I just brute forced through the first 3 acts.... literally just AOE'ing everything down and spamming revenge if my health got low.
But in Act 4.... i started to feel the pain..... I kept trying to just maul everything and started to die quite a bit.
On Diablo I actually cracked and went to using a shield because I simply didn't have enough HP to survive if he hit me twice in a row. I think I died 4 times using a 2 hander, and killed him the first time using a shield.
Being a barbarian is pretty fun....I like leap and charge and whirlwind.... but melee in general is kinda meh. Sometimes you just run into a mob that needs to be kited and it kinda sucks having to kite with such limited range spells.
Furious charge, where the cooldown resets if you run over more than 4 mobs is very fun.
On nightmare I've taken to charging big groups and then using leap to get out of range. Still dying more and more often, I think I'm going to have to start getting vitality instead of only pure strength gear as it gets harder.
