I do agree that arena has fallen apart, but PvE hasn't gotten easier. It has gotten significantly more difficult. Comparing HM ICC vs HM BoT or BWD, ICC is a joke.
I am looking forward to D3 and seeing the difference the changes they made.
I dont really know why on earth they would have regions in Diablo 3. I'm hoping/guessing that the games will be hosted on the hosts connection using only a lobby system for finding games. Different rooms for different regions etc would make a lot more sense in D3's case than fully locked out regional servers

I think it will be very similiar to Starcraft II because they like the "always connected experience"

During SC2 beta many many sites offering preorders gave you beta keys for preordering the game. I'd bet that this will be the case with D3 as well. You could even preorder, get the key and cancel the order.

No, lol. I assume they will show up in your e-mail the same way SC2 beta occured.
So you're saying I won't get a key? Well at least I can get a friend invite if one of my friends get one and IF they choose to give me one (THEY FUCKING BETTER)... keke this is really exciting ^_^
D3's beta won't have nearly the same amount of people being invited, balance isn't being rigorously tested and data isn't being collected in a way that requires a huge tester base.
Bottom line, most of us won't be touching the beta and I doubt pre-orders will have beta invites attached.

If it is anything like SC2, that means you will be getting into beta way late. I got a first wave invite in like February of last year. If I recall correctly, the pre-order keys were given just before release. (at the earliest, mid way into the beta) Then yeah, I guess everyone will get in eventually, haha

The pessimistic speculation is strong in this one.

Have you never played cowruns (1.09) or baalruns (1.10+)? The cow level/throne of destruction was almost always filled with 8 players. No idea what people were doing on battle.net in 1.07/1.08 or before the expansion tho.
The point given on the Diablocast was that if you actually played the game you rarely had more than four people. The only time 8 people were actually in the game was when people were farming exp.

You never did any Baal runs? Those wizards who were immune to all sorts of shit? You needed a lot of hack&slash power for those in 8 player games.
Oh come on guys, baal runs are a joke. With decent gear theyre easy as piss even in p8, and its all about a single hammerdin nuking everything down while the other guys leech. The only avenue where decent amount of co operation actually is necessary and exists is diablo 2 classic(non.expansion) chaos runs, which basically require three different classes(hdin, sorc, barb) to do them in a swift manner

Not true, that was only for the last stage of beta.

Perhaps, but it still doesn't change the fact that they did in fact give out beta keys

I don't want this to become a discussion, but he's talking about how AQ40/Naxx40 were MUCH more difficult compared to current raids. PvE in WoW is a complete joke and has been since WotLK release.
