Its a nice break from playing starcraft 2 ^^. Yayayay! Now you have to learn to do it with someone chasing you with a RL. And know how to spin around in the middle of it and rail someone.

havent played for months but duels sure were great there .. except when i stoped playing , there were quite a few quits so it was very easy to practice spawning out of control and trying to gain control but not vice versa

So which Quake game has the biggest concentration of "progamers".. similar to how CS 1.6 has the majority over CS:S.. is it Quake Live?? or Quake 3?
|
Quake live. Everyone switched, hoping QL was going to be a success, but the complete incompetence of the dev team is slowly killing the greatest fps game ever made. =(

cpma still has pretty strong following but nowhere near QL

It's like playing with a bunch of 14 year olds. D:

yeah q3 doesn't 'compete' with QL like 1.6 does with CSS. Honestly I feel it's because QL is simply a much better game than q3, whereas with CS even a casual player would feel CSS was a downgrade in some ways. The people who feel q3 was better as a game at this point are not even a vocal minority, there are like four of them and they don't talk much.

And better yet, the population of the servers arent playing the terrible counter-strike (clan-arena) game style that the cpma guys seem to be obsessed with.
And has better graphics too
Also Warsow is a bit more popular than either of the two and has perhaps the most developed movement mechanics of quake-copies(though it too is plagued by the clan arena obsession)

I'm Mickey77 on QL. Add me guys. I'm tier 3.

Just started this game today. Was quite fun. Gonna have to give strafe jumping a go. And hitting multiple rails feels so rewarding :D
|
Finally completed the default rocket challenge and the strafe jumping challenges today! Anyway I am Sen_ra on QL and I am tier 4, but definately at the lower end. I get my ass kicked most of the time, but definately kick any tier 3 player's ass.. Kind of wish there was a tier in between. Eitherway, add me, and we'll play

Haha back at my peak i was on the very bottom end of T5 but thats it unfortunately :<
My movement and general gamesense is fair, but unfortunately my map control is absolutely abysmal to be any good haha

r_mode 1 - 400 x 300 r_mode 2 - 512 x 384 r_mode 3 - 640 x 480 r_mode 4 - 800 x 600 r_mode 5 - 1024 x 768 r_mode 6 - 1152 x 864 r_mode 7 - 1280 x 1024 r_mode 8 - 1600 x 1200 [...] and so on
You should choose the resolution you want to play on and lower cg_viewsize to ur preference if it appears too big.

I'd be fine if they'd just implement promode for Quake Live, but I don't see that happening.
