lol it's ok barbs I went down to 1100 recently from 1500 too.. it probably had more to do to the fact that I trolled quite a bit.. it's funny how mad people get at you just for the champion you select. :D
|
So i just bought amumu and i am trying to jungle with it, its shithard though. I think partially because I am level 8 and have very few mastery points/runes. Any tips/anything from anyone?

I play jungle amumu, but I have no idea how I would fare without runes and masteries. I'd suggest you play laning amumu until you've got some runes.

iirc, he lands somewhere in the shen or eve speed of jungling (but doesnt have the mobility that these do). not to mention hes such a powerhouse in lane that more often than not you're gonna want to lane vs jungling. Only reason to jungle him is if you want a fairly fast dragon (person who posted had something like 4min or 4:20-30 min dragon?)
also, required reading imo, dunno if it has been posted already (probably has, its old, but could use 1st page status anyways), i thot it was great

Check the guide linked on the first page. You really need defensive masteries and basically chug health pots. Its definitely do or die. I don't think you will be able to jungle fast enough without the right setup to be worthwhile. Should be able to get away with laning him at ur lvl.

You need some god **** CC. CC = Crowd Control. We're talking things that make the enemy hero sit down and shut up. Stuns, silence, slow, movement effects, knock-up, knock-around, pull, throw. If you walk into a teamfight and Kat is sitting there spinning out being a skank, you need someone to throw a stun on her ass to shut her up. Same goes for Nunu. Hell, if you can spot fiddle charging up his ult and land a grab on him with blitz, you can turn his triple kill into a face full of lightning fist. Go ahead and try playing a game without any CC. See how it feels. See how much you want some lube after. As a rule, I like to have at least two ways to stop channeling on any given team, four is better, five gives me a ******. The more the merrier, if you're coordinated with it. Landing three different stuns on the same carry at the same time however, is kind of a waste. But I digress: Get stuns. Get blinds, and ****ing silences, and all that good ****.
EG: Sion, Teemo, Alistar, Blitzcrank, Teemo
Spot the oddity.

i found malzahar fun for some games here and there, but i think the general thinking is that he isnt viable for ranked play^^

I just love being able to spam kassadins (sp) ult and teleport left and right, to engage, to escape, to catch up with ppl etc. He does seem more versitile than malzahar who seems more like a dps bot, and even so kassadin just eats squishies for breakfast :> His E spell is fucking nasty dps+slow once you get some AP
Im really just looking for that one caster type with a bit of CC and good dps, I enjoy those types of heroes the most

it is a bit old, so the individual champ data may/may not be out of date, but a lot of the overarching ideas are solid. hes a funny poster in general tho, very amusing to read at the least

lol, all casters = cc + burst dps dmg (via ap) annie, fiddle, veigar, malz, anivia, kass, etc all fall under a pretty standard 'caster' setup, tho malz is the furthest off the beaten path imo (most casters will have more straight up burst and more reliable cc than he does). I dont play a lot of casters tho, so i wouldnt really be able to give you more than generalizations on how to play them. There are also some off 'casters' in the sense that they scale well off of ap and have good burst/cc, but dont fall under the 'caster' stereotype, being heroes like poppy and sion.
Surprisingly tho, of all the caster types, ive found veigar the most amusing to play, its quite easy to farm up that ap, and if any1 else on the enemy team is going ap, your ult shreds them like no other. I played a game where i could actually instakill a nidalee with one combo.
