i still think 1 infinity edge can be a good thing especially to boost those critical strikes but wow, if i ever see someone with 2 infinity edges in game again (as opposed to the much more rounded *and* cost efficient atma's impaler) i think i'm gonna rage. inf edge is definitely the best single damage item on paper and in game...

Maybe you should try rereading it since it is basic, and good, information regarding specific classes but doesn't explain a single thing that has been talked about on the last 5-10pages.
MP/AP/HP kind of stuff is obvious.

Ive been thinking infinity edge + atma's impalers for all range carries. Atma's gives more crit, armor, and damage>bf sword if you have more than 2500 hp, which everyone should have if im not mistaking. Then infinity edge gives more damage, crit, and the unique. Add a green pot, and youre crits hit hard. I think someone before me suggested this.
Then again, i want to play armor shredding corki... i wish gattling gun's range was longer. Can gattling gun crit, btw? I would check if LoL was working for me...

I'm reading the LoL website forums now, but one thing is still confusing.
Why is "jungling" so important and why are some classes considered better at it? Isn't it just essentially a high dps guy running around sniping people when he gets a shot?

You should pick this game up! I started this game without any knowledge of this genre, and I hadn't discovered the LoL thread here. The first few games may be rough, but there is a tutorial, and the first few games, you can just familiarize yourself with the gameflow and items. On the official league of legends site, they give you info also, so you can check that out. If you have any specific questions, you can always ask this thread!

everything else discussed is either just garabage, or information that you can only get by playing.... every game has jargon, even games like tetris

Jungling is important for many reasons. 1. Gives the team two solo lanes and a jungle, which is equivalent to about a solo lane in terms of exp and gold. This means you will have an exp and gold advantage as a whole. 2. Ganking- this means that if the other team is stupid enough, you can go into the lane, hopefully net a kill. This also means that the other team will be afraid of you, and may not be as aggresive as they should be. 3. Dragon control- killing dragon gives global exp and gold, equal to a towers (i believe). This is substantial, and can turn a game around if you are losing, or pull your team to the lead.
The best junglers are the ones who can jungle fast and can gank well. There really isn't a specific class that does well. For example, fiddlesticks is a mage who can jungle well and gank well (fear+drain), udyr is a tanky dps who can jungle well and gank well (BEAR STANCE), amumu is a tank who can jungle well and gank well (bandage toss), yi is a hard carry who can jungle well and gank well (just overall speed and dps).

but yeah jungler are really important, even if it is just for overall map control. Imagine if your bot lane gets dominated by taric + whatever, with a jungler they have to be way more careful about pushing the tower, they could get ganked at anytime, and it's the best way to win over a screwed up line.

dude, ive been fucking LOVING malz now (believe it or not, unrelated to buffs, i played him a bit right before buffs), i still dont know anything about his viability in high level play (you would know much better than me), but i just find him fun to play

malz's buff makes him somewhat viable.....maybe.

I'm just glad that the competitive scene in LoL isn't too big, the term "tryhard" definitely makes it to the top 5# ugliest game-related words chart.

He seems kinda situational character now, he may punish squishy for getting into bad position, also his W is (and always was) quite good skill combined with mass cc but not that easy to pull of for decent duration.
Still his biggest problem is that most casters in late game transition into mass cc'ers (fidd, morgana, annie) and he only has hard to aim silence and ww-like ult that stuns you as well

The term "butthurt" has been around since forever and its origins have nothing to do with gaming...

And me failing at math again, brutalizer isn't as cost efficient as I thought >_> I'm pretty sure brutalizer is one of the most cost efficient items in the game. Well, it is "cost efficient" as in giving a lot of damage for its cost, but when building infinity edge you want critical strike, not damage. The armor penetration gives 15%/7,5%/5% damage bonus against 15/100/200 armor respectively, which is very nice, but no one is hanging around at 15 armor and it is worse than infinity edge boosed critical chance. In the end, another agility cloak would simply be much better, unless you REALLY want cooldown reduction.
As for the Youmuu's ghost blade, it is ok-ish DPS item, it is definately worth it if you want the active.
The reason why I don't like buying damage at all beyond infinity edge is this: Critical strike chance is on average +1% to your damage. With masteries and IE, it is +1,6% bonus to your damage. Let's pretend you have 180 damage, which is reasonable with infinity edge. Each point in critical strike is worth 2,88 damage. One damage costs 39 gold, one point in critical chance costs 48.88. So it isn't efficient to buy damage beyond infinity edge until you have ~85% critical strike chance >_>.
(edit; failed at math again. Everything is correct now ^^)
TL;DR After infinity edge, buy agility cloaks. You can buy Atma's at around 50% critical chance if you want armor. If you have more/less HP than 2000 buy it sooner/later. Do not build damage until 100% critical chance. Get last whisper in somewhere in there.

So I've lost 4 games because people want to have stupid picks. 2 support team with no good carry. eve sivir. leavers. Why is this shit happening at 1500. Guess I need to get past 1550 and hope it's different in the 1600's.
