i think he means if you start moving in on kog from his full attack range, every step you take to get closer to him, he'll be shooting you, so he does more and more damage while you do nothing, just trying to get in position

imagine 5v5 at mid for your 2nd turret. while their team with the whole tanky champs are threatening near your turret, kog or ez stand at your 1st turret and shoot in. Now he is the main Dam dealer so you want to kill him 1st instead of the tanks but to kill him, you need to go through jungle and enter mid from river... while you try that, your turret is down already => killing kog = 1 turret.... wtf?
i know its all theory to you guys but that happen twice to me already... :<

ive found the best way to nail kog is to get like 3 tanky dps types and just charge str8 for the fucker. He goes up in smoke, so once you actually get to him he dies almost immediately, after which you can clean up the rest of the group. Not to say that this is particularly easy, you need decent positioning and good coordination to pull it off, but it seems to be the method with the highest success rate for myself.

Tanky dps is what kogmaw counter, the best way to kill him is sending your anti carry on his ass(Shaco, Akali, Poppy)
|
who gives a shit if kogmaw is a 'counter' to tanky dps... he cant kill 3-4 of them in the time it takes to walk up to him, and if he can, then you're not gonna win anyways (he'd have to be stupid fed)

i was a kog doubter. i'm slowly turning into a hardcore believer.

anybody have a good tank taric guide? you're supposed to get armor runes or something right?
Edit: also i don't understand how kog, with no escape mechanisms, can do anything against poppy's imba move speed and immunity to his attacks.

If he was clever enough to get Ghost/Flash/Cleanse/high MSpeed, it won't be easy to catch him without chars like Kass/Akali/etc. Even if you eventually catch him, you will be in a highly unfavorable position unless the rest of the enemy team sucks.
I've been no1 target quite often as Ashe, and whenever 2+ people would start chasing me, the fight ended nicely for my team. With Boots3, Ghost, Ghostblade and Cleanse I get away quite often too.

Rupture can't cover the whole smoke afaik, if she sicks to the very side of it you won't hit her if you ruptured right in the middle. At least that's the impression I got several times. Yup, that's why you run in the middle of the smoke and rupture yourself: your hitbox will often force a misclick onto you and if she stops moving she will autoattack you. Often I'll just Q->R a wounded akali that hit me since W is too hard to aim at close range.

another fun fact about rupture, is that it takes teemo out of his camouflage if you hit him with it =)

hate to break it to you guys but kog doesnt need a bloodrazor to rip people apart. people have caught onto this and have been building him pure mitigation, making him annoying as fuck. its like if tristana was a tank with bloodrazors as her only item...thats what kog'maw is right now. Bloodrazors only makes it 2x as bad lategame once they get all their survivability. I like to get the razors early for easy buffs/farming but i dont finish until i have veil and some other stuff.

Well I'm down to like 1519 or some crap like that.
I need to start duo queueing again ... stupid Utah going back to school and Turkey's comp exploding.

im looking to accomplish the impossible, 1700 through strictly trolling solo queue.

I feel like Dota is soccer: Two teams test each other's defenses and the winner is the one who occasionally through good positioning breeches those defenses. Most of the time it's all just about tempo and positioning.
Lol is basketball: It's a race to see who can pile up the most tiny advantages, and the winner is the team who eeks out every tiny advantage. (creep kills, forcing backs, getting dragon etc)
And basketball is awful because no one ever dies, ever.

I'm trying to stick to pantheon. I really wanna make him work, especially with Garen and Amumu banned all the time. But goddamnit, if my team doesn't let me solo one more time, I swear to fucking god I'll pull an Utah and just start jungling with Kat.

As I mentioned, my times of playing during the weekdays (especially Monday->Thursday) are probably over for a while >_< I've been so tired every time I get home. The only possibility is Wednesday but I have a tendency to reverse procrastinate (do everything early) so I tend to be cramming Monday/Tuesday-class work into Wednesday, heh.

you crazy azns with your reverse procrastination!
seriously though, I'm gonna start duo queueing with random smash players in the 1200-1400 range, lol.

I consider Taric my main and have great success with the following:
Runes: Armor Pen/MP5/MP5/Flat HP quints Masteries: Standard 9/0/21 Summoner Spells: (Improved)Exhaust, (Improved)Clarity Skill Order: WQEWQR - R>W>Q>E
Items - Start with a mana manipulator, since Taric doesn't need pots. Merc treads. Finish Soul Shroud. Build Aegis. Next is (usually) Frozen Heart. If the enemy team is stacked on AP naturally you'll skip this. Whatever item you choose, next build a GA. The game should end here, or sometime well before it.
If you get a kill or two early, consider purchasing a SS right after the Soul Shroud. Get a few stacks early and you'll become an immortal death machine. Do not underestimate your own power early and mid game. Your spells scale in power incredibly well, especially at lower levels.

oh so a prime example of the fucking shit I've had to put up with recently...
last night I have a game, I'm 3rd pick on my team, we've got bigfatjiji as our captain and I'm like, alright, this is pretty cool, I know who that is and I know that they don't suck completely. I also recognize Satashi, but I can't remember if I remember him for sucking or being decent (not a good sign, but at the time I was willing to take what I could get). So anyway, right, we got the 2nd pick, so that means that I'm picking after 5 people and bans and SOMEHOW garen's still around so I'm like, sweet, free Garen and as a bonus, we get a Sion too, so I get to do Sion + Garen, Kayle on a solo, Jiji with Kennen mid and Satashi jungling with WW.
So Sion + Garen vs. Taric + Shen. We get Taric down to less than half health AND get the lane pulling pretty hard. By "we" I meant "I" because sion had to back at level 1 because he was an idiot. WW swings by, pings for a gank on Taric. Sion IMMEDIATELY (note, WW still by purple (our) golem at this point) runs forward and stuns full health shen and starts wailing on him. Gank obviously fails and to add insult to injury, fucking Xin comes along with Red buff and kills WW and I who were chasing the Taric. Sion meanwhile backed after hitting Shen twice and sitting at our tower starts calling us idiots, which then sends Satashi on a flaming rampage for the rest of the game. jiji loses mid to vlad, Kayle builds 3 d-rings -> dfg -> z-ring, I end with the only positive score and still just have no idea what I was supposed to do to make that game winnable.
and I swear, 4/5 games are like this for me recently, it's just driving me nuts. I know law of averages will kick in eventually but it's still put me on super-duper-mega-ultra life tilt atm.
