And why did you decide to die to neutral creeps instead of suiciding to a tower? Obviously it's because there's no risk of them attacking you in the jungle and getting the kill.

Exactly. just being smart..

Looks like your all set on the rules and prepard to defend them, so i wont argue. IMO all those restriction takes the fun away, I just wanted crazy battle in mid like I used to do in dota om.

Probably just fudged the rules when they were fighting at the nexus turrets and ran around back? It's against the letter of the rules, but i'm not so sure about the spirit. Seems like less of a game-breaker than people winning because they took fort when it's not banned?

You're going to be called a noob for playing Cho AP by most players, but just remember that most players suck and don't even play Cho. If you are the only tank you should tank, but not by stacking HP. Instead, get stuff like Negatron Cloaks and Chainmail to add to your EHP. Either way, explain to them that you're a CC-caster that tanks lategame, not early.

When I was newer to Cho I swore by Warmog's, but I've learned. It's not that good. I'd rather have a Guardian Angel or, hell, even two Negatron Cloaks any day of the week. Stack resistance that you need, not HP. Identify what kind of damage the other team is going to be putting out early. Sometimes this is tricky. If they have a DPS, check to see if they're going Bloodrazors. If they are, count them as magic damage.

Honestly now that I've been playing Cho for long enough, I don't really have a set build, but I advocate opening regen pendant for staying power in lane. I take mpen marks, movespeed quints, and mp5/lv seals and glyphs. My masteries are usually 0/22/8 or 0/21/9, depending on if I take ghost/cleanse or ghost/teleport. Now that cleanse is a lot less useful I take teleport a lot.

You DO want an AP item on Cho, at least one. If you're the only caster and you have another tank or two, you want a few. Mejai's is fun, but as you get higher up, you'll find that it's harder and harder to get enough kills to warrant it. I'd rather buy a NLR for a bit cheaper and get 80AP immediately instead of having to stack it out, especially because you can upgrade the NLR lategame and it doesn't lose effectiveness if you die.

I get merc treads every game now, no matter what. There's never a team at my level that makes me think dodge is worthwhile, and moving fast is nice but the MR and cc reduction is priceless.

There is a lot out there for Chogath because of how strong his skills are, and basically his only weakness is how slow he moves and the fact that rupture is HIGHLY dependent on your skill as a player. Other than that, he's the whole package. He tanks, he CCs, he farms well, he's amazing in lane, and there are a LOT of builds that work with him. I've seen attack speed chogaths, I've seen jungle chogaths, I've seen AP, tank, and disabler-support chogaths. Play him how you want to, you'll figure it out eventually.

Whatever you do, though, don't read the MFing Chogath guide. That thing is horrible. Even the recent guide that I wrote is out of date. It's all about adapting.

Just played my fist game. Two other also claimed to play their first one. On top of that we had to play 4vs5 due to a leaver. Luckily the last one was some Anni Smurf who went 27-0 so he managed to win us the game. I suck at LoL.

this ARAM is lame in low numbers. I will never ever do it again because it just pissed me off. We did it 2v2 with friends, we got amumu (me) and annie vs ashe and cho'gath.. it was as lame as it could be and I ended jungling and blue pilling because I could get no fricking creep kills (either annie got them or I couldn't get to them without getting pwnt).. annie ended 0/12 too. In the end I was able to kill those two all day long, without them running away, but it was just too late, their creeps managed to roll over our creeps and chew through side lanes even killing inhibitors. When I got frozen mallet we had no towers left and they just finished us. Otherwise ashe just kited me all day long.

i really want you guys opinion on "how exactly should you play this game"...

what i have discovered about is kill/death only decided 20% result of the game. the rest is about towercounts.

since the biggest different of this game and hon/dota is turrets is weighted more, "backdoor" play is much stronger. now what make a turret go down fastest? DPS champs. but DPS champs take times to farmed up to get kill, the one who get most kill would be some AP champ like ryze/annie/morg blah blah.

So picking a heavy DPS line up such as sivir ashe yi is better or AP like annie morg is better? There was games my team down to 9-20 and we won back just by sivir teleport backdoor or yi backdoor. And in fact, no AP champ can save you a game like that.

There is no rule said that back door is not allowed and we are all know that its just some kinda cheesy play bad manner. But it sure secure you a victory so why dont you do that?

I think this also one of the reasons Heim always stay in top ban champ in rank. he can both do AP and DPS + the ability to take down turrets fast.

Riot may/may-not fix this but im quite sure that if people give it a little more thought, there will be lots of strategies we can use to turn a game upside down.

There's no single overwhelming strategy, but you can definitely cheese wins (and lose when they fail) etc.

For example, you can win with a pure AP team. It's just very hard, and can be hardcountered by a team with lots of tanks. It's why I talked about how EzPz and I carried with Annie/Kassadin despite it sounding like a bizarre choice of "carries." We simply went about ending the game about 15 minutes in, and whilst the majority of games lasted 30 minutes most of it was a formality and simply playing safe to kill towers.

However tonight I played a 5v5 normal with 4 tanks (jungle Udyr, 1v2 Nasus, Garen and Xin) and one ranged hero (Ezreal mid), and we ran against a pure AP team... because they didn't get anything rolling with regards to offense, their window of opportunity faded, and they had no kill advantage whatsoever, such that when we got farmed we just killed them towers bedamned. Actually by the end the towers did more damage to us than their team combined.

Actually this is a funny example because we were against Annie and a Soraka/Kass lane. They simply could not get anything going against us despite having an Udyr of their own And once like the 25-30 minute mark rolled around it was over for them, because I was rumbling around with 200 magic resistance. They were doing so little damage, and we were tower diving so hard, that one of their towers started doing 400 damage to us. That's a lot of consecutive hits.

Meanwhile DPS works alright but you've always got a bit of a close call with their farming, ganking, and then actual carrying, because tanks generally crush DPS heroes with similar farm - how many times have you played a hero like Ezreal or Ashe or Trist and had to backpedal because your team couldn't stop a Shen/Malphite/Singed from just running through their team and hacking away at you? In like fashion this is why you'll often see a DPS hero run up a crazy score like 20-5-20 and still lose a very one-sided game. They do damage, but they tend not to have any useful utility, so their team falls apart around them despite them scoring kills.

etc. etc.

Incidentally AP gets quite a boost to towers, though I forgot how much of AP is translated into tower damage.

For the 50th time, Heimer is at the top of ban rankings because he dumbs down a game, basically automatically turning it into cheese. Either he maintains golem and dominates, or he can't maintain golem control and just dies. I've had so many games where Heimer would push down outer towers and then simply run out of steam.

If the game is going longer than 40 minutes just have two of these on your team and you're pretty much guaranteed a win:

Amumu
Garen
Olaf
Morgana
Singed
Malphite
Rammus

Tanks are carries in the true sense of the term.
