Sometimes I feel like the players are their balance lab What's wrong with that? It's called "feedback" and I think it's a great thing. Well let's say that the feedback has caused Jax and Ryze to become how they are, both used to be fairly fun to play You're citing two cases of arguable balance improvements in comparison to the countless bug/glitch/power level fixes that they've done to this game based on player input, I just feel like it's marginalizing the effect of consensus on balance issues. Seriously, this game is better than it used to be in beta because of player input. Nobody is saying they should disregard balance suggestions from the players. What I meant is it feels like they dream up a hero with all sorts of cool abilities and then release them without testing them. Then shortly afterwards they are hit with the nerfbat to be brought back in line with the other heroes. I've only been playing LoL since the beginning of this year and have yet to see a new hero be released where the players have said "hey this guy is useless and completely underpowered. He needs to be buffed before he can be played" and it is almost always the exact opposite. what?
before xin we had: kog maw olaf mal zahar akali
all of whom were/are considered average at best. People have really selective memories when it comes to these things.

grenade deals 0 dmg to turrets. that's like all that needs to be done in addition to nerfing hheimer's turrets' base dmg
EDIT: hate doubleposts sigh

Ezreal is almost the only "new" champ that is actually good.

grenade vs. turret really isn't a problem anymore imho.
it's just that 3 turrets do such absurd damage and if you put your guard down at any point after 15 minutes, his team gets a free baron, and if you're trying to cover them at baron, you end up letting heimer set up shop on an advanced lane. *shrugs* I really just think that with heimer it's a problem of him making the game really boring and methodical and while heimer style can be defeated, it's really annoying and teams that don't know what to do get assraped. I think this problem is inherent of his design... if he's viable enough to do what he needs to be able to do to be effectively, he's overpowered vs. teams that don't properly counter him, which makes him too good under the top level of play and naturally results in a lot of QQing.

triple pot, ninja tabi, IE, phantom dancer, atmas, ghostblade, bloodthrister on jax. 50% dodge chance, 100% crit chance, max attack speed, 400 atk dmg , 40% CDR :D
if only i could farm this every game

sadly their entire team was DPS LOL COUNTERPICK JAX FTW

yea, I figured from the complete and total disregard for Magic Resist, LOL. I just find it funny how hard casters would rock that particular Jax setup :p.

When Udyr first came out he was worthless. People would queue dodge if they had an udyr on their team. Pros got on their smurf accounts and struggled to get 1:1 with him (tiger stance scaled the best with gear, but wasn't worth leveling early game, and also gibbed on-hit abilities).
After Udyr it was almost refreshing to have a new champ be OP, since one person on both teams could pick them and it would be fairer than if an uninformed person played a shiny new punching bag; neither situation is ideal though.

really? I wasn't playing enough to know what's what back then, but I could've sworn people said udyr was busted beyond belief at one point and I just figured that was when he first came out.

All I can say is, I poop a little everytime udyr runs out of the jungle with both buffs and bear stance activated.

someone told me turtle was stupid beyond belief back then, and that you could literally just sit in mid autoattacking and spamming turtle stance

yea, I remember hearing that too :p like the mana steal was high enough that he could just spam it off every CD :p.

Nidalee has only minor nerfs after she came out. Udyr has been patched heavily. Shen was good when he got into the game and he has been buffed and then heavily nerfed... and I guess he is still somewhat viable. Panth is... well...

EDIT: cuz as far as I remember, he had slight rescaling of shield size and vorpal damage that's weaker early and stronger late, slight CD nerf to ult, and a decent healing nerf to vorpal, which all tolled seems like a pretty minor net nerf from release to now.
and Panth was good from release until season 1, but is now complete and utter garbage.
