I've been running jungle Malzahar lately. It's craptons of fun, dominates pubs, and has no margin of error. Malz kills creeps REALLY fast, but has to go back quite often. Usually, I run through the jungle, kill every low level camp and one buff, and b; the camps don't respawn until I'm back already. It's also really weird having DISABLES suddenly.

Waiting for 6.3k IP for Ezreal but I have a quick question.
What's the difference between AP Ezreal and AD Ezreal? Iv'e been using AP and have herd that it's best but iv'e seen a lot of Ezreals in ranked games go for Bloodthirsters ect pure AD + LS. AD ezreal wins the short term but AP ezreal is better in the long game. If your average game is over before 40 minutes then you're probably better off going AD. Otherwise AP will do increasingly more damage because you cant auto attack as freely as the game goes on longer making your damage significantly less as you're not boosting any skill except Q. For AP build I usually go: Dorans ring Sheen Boots Mejai's Soulstealer Lichbane Rylais Zhonya's Usually you'll win somewhere around lichbane. errr... no, AD is pretty much strictly better at this point. when AP ezreal was good, he kicked in earlier and could make heal team pushes around 15 minutes unstoppable, but really right now there's no reason to play AP ezreal. a nuker with no disables and nerfed AP ratios just doesn't cut it.
|
Without heal it takes you up until lichbane to do any real damage, and even then you're not hitting as hard as you would with AD anyway.
|
As a former AP ezreal, I can say AD is probably better now.
|
Mogwai, some Kayle got really mad at me for following your build in levelling queue today. Apparently we've been playing it wrong, and the way you're actually supposed to play is to build pure regen and melee an ulting Rammus next to a Xin to get heal off CD!
edit: he's apparently fairly good too, 11-2 ranked premade.. sorta wonder how good his teammates are when he mouths off like that.

I will try out both though now I uderstand it's only auto attack that really benifits from AD
well it's auto attack + mystic shot get benefits from ad.. AD you spam mystic shot trigger your attack speed boost then auto attack when you can get it it.. ap you mostly just burst with your abilities, then come back and do it again..

if you want to wreck havoc with your ad ez make sure to take red/blue buffs as much as you can. being able to spam mystic shot makes all the difference.

If they ban first and don't ban heimerdinger or shaco (which means they probably banned shen or xin zhao) I'll ban Taric and Shen or Xin Zhao (whoever isn't banned yet). This puts the other captain in kind of a shitty position because they can only ban one or the other and we get first pick.
If they ban first and they ban heimer or shaco then I ban the other one and Amumu. This makes the last ban come down usually to Xin Zhao or Shen, and since they can only ban one I can pick the other. Amumu is probably the next most powerful tank since he can jungle and by banning him you severely limit the other team's tank choices (as we've banned 2 strong ones and can first pick another)
If I'm banning first I try to make a situation where they have to pick carefully which champions they will pick/ban. Usually I'll start by banning Amumu and react accordingly. The object here is to end up with 3 very strong champions to select and us getting the 2nd two. Usually they will ban 2 of the following: Shen, Xin zhao, heimer, shaco, taric, soraka. If they ban heimer and shaco then congrats, you win! Ban Taric 4th and then you get 2/3 of shen, xin zhao, or soraka. If they don't ban 2 of those well then they are probably playing a specific setup (like the aoe teams of the past) and you can follow up the Amumu ban with a fiddle or morgana ban and you should be good to go. Your team always gets last pick in this scenerio so if you're lucky you can get the 5th person to pick accordingly.
I like this a lot, I hadn't taken the time to think this in-depth into it

I was curious so I did a test.
It only takes one point in the experience mastery to get level 2 off the stone golems.
|
But you're still in the jungle for a long time and honestly I take exp masteries on most casters when I'm not in the jungle too because getting there faster is HUGE when it comes to things like level 6 and 11.

AP Ezreal has more potential damage than AD for a number of reasons, but like I said AD plays a lot stronger earlier and can snowball much faster (thus why it seems more powerful and better)
AP Ezreal may not do as much damage with mystic shot but you can do a ton more damage in a team fight by going AP and hitting ~ 2x as hard with W and R on multiple people.
Also the chance that the enemies have more reduction from armor is a lot higher than them having and equal amount of magic resist so your spells should end up doing more of your damage late game anyway. And if they do stack resistances void staff is more cost effective than last whisper (because IAS is not the best stat for ezreal)

I didn't either, I just happened upon it because I was tired of playing against fiddle/morgana/amumu/x/y so i was banning amumu and ran into weird situations

The main problem, though, is that there`s really no point in ezreal if all you`re looking for is a solid AoE nuker. AP ezreal used to be the best because he could AoE heal. Even after it was nerfed to 50% heal, it was still super good.

Yes there is. Ezreal is a lot more mobile than 90% of the aoe nukers, and with arcane shift its extremely easy to maximize the amount of damage you can do with your aoes.
Ezreal also has the ability to poke, is a very strong laner, and can farm very effectively. Although he doesn't just jump in and destroy a team with aoe (like fiddle) it is a lot easier to become an effective Ezreal and he can do a lot more when you're behind.
And if you want you can make the same argument against and AD ezreal, why play him when you can play ashe or tristana
|
Well, if you ask me, he's not better than tristana...
|
Gragas does what tristana does but safer and with more booze. Tristana can dps if you just let her sit and shoot, but her main job is control with rocket jump into ult.
|
Imo tristana's main job is to shoot things dead....and no, gragas cannot do what she does.
rocket jump and ult is all used to keep yourself alive late game, not for initiating anything.

being able to reposition is nice, but that doesn't really get much worth out of your champ in teamfights. Some mediocre AoE nukes with practically no utility...doesn't make a good champ. I'd rather use kassadin than AP ezreal, or annie, or kennen.
Keeping yourself alive isn't really the main priority of a team nuker. Your job is to open the path for your DPS to finish things off. Ezreal can't do that as well as a nuker with cc.

I love this game. I played dota alot back in the day.. nothing to high ELO but still I enjoy myself
