Quite personally, if i see someone mid with no hp quints or hp item, they get zoned from the start, automatically, because without that extra hp they will never win a 1v1 confrontation right away. (in general) Obviously opening red pot negates all of this. | ||

Heroes like Trist and Nidalee aren't as hard-core zoning champions because they have to auto-attacking you to "zone you out" of exp range, and doing so causes them to get hammered by creep, so they can poke you out of exp range (which you can time with the imminent death of siege creep) but they usually can't just sit there in the middle of your creep pushing you out. Edit: Annie's a hero with zoning power because when she has her stun up she can chain-nuke you and walk away, and at level 6 if you're at or under a certain level of HP you absolutely cannot let her get in range. I guess the TL;DR version is that a zoning hero is one that has a certain damage range that you really want to avoid walking into, because once you enter that range you take a "ridiculous" amount of damage, one that you can't keep up with. | ||

 you have to balance hitting them with keeping your shield up, while not letting your health get too low from ability overuse. I didn't realize just how much health his E cost until I nearly killed myself idly spamming it lol. | ||
