Do any good Galio players have some build advice? As far as I can tell, Vail + Guardian Angel are your core items on Galio. Spirit Visage and Chalice are both reasonable, but not core. Merc treads are the obvious boots. | ||

Do any good Galio players have some build advice? i think the build that people were recommending me was merc treads, banshees, ga, zhonyas(if you get that far).. I pretty much just do that.. banshees is really good, and you can get some armor from your W.. I think after Zhonyas, if the game is still going get what you need.. health or thornmail or abyssal also, galio is really really really good. But i mean.. you miss the ult and you don't get much effectiveness out of him | ||

It's vastly more AP at that point (Zhonya's needs 80 before you get it to break even), and some MR. Zhonya's active is nice, but I don't think it's worth it there. | ||

EDIT: I still think Zhonyas is worth it.. the active is great. . also I think you have quite a bit of ap at the time you build it(cause of the passive). Nothing wrong with abyssal, that will increase you and your teams damage output a lot cause of the reduction... also I love amummu and galio for unorganized teams as well, just cause locking down their team for 2 seconds will normally cause your team to win the team fight or at least get close to it..and it gives you a much larger impact on team fights then almost any other hero. Ping, then ult, and I mean.. if you don't win after that.. you weren't gonna win | ||

HP quints mp5/level yellow mres/level blue mpen flat red QEEQEREWEWWQWQWQ take a solo lane. galio can mid easily but loves top too. if it looks like it's going to be an easy lane (any melee solo) take mana manipulator, otherwise doran's ring and pot. if you're in a duo take mana manipulator. if you have a jungler and your opponent's jungler is faster (i.e. you have malphite they have olaf) then get faerie charm + ward + pots. you need SOME mana regen in lane but you don't want meki because galio doesn't like any of the things it builds into first trip back is giant's belt + boots, second is (mana manipulator +) mercs + soul shroud. you can stay out in the field for literally FOREVER with a few hp pots and soul shroud. you should have like 22% CDR from SS, try to take blue if no one needs it badly, but you're not a 1st priority. after a teamfight look at what your teammates need. bunch of squishies = aegis. durable champs that just need an initiator = banshee. enemies have low MRes = abyssal scepter. lots of phys on the other team = thornmail. guardian isn't until after your 3 core items (boots + SS + core tank item). galio can pull off soul shroud first because he farms so well and he wants his ult up at all times. you don't need kills either, try not to get the last hit (unless it's with your ult and it's a penta because pentas are BAD ASS). i've heard people get zhonya's on galio but that seems silly to me levi could be really strong on galio cause he gets so many assists but i never get it galio + sona double manamanipulator is one of the strongest spammiest safest lanes in the game | ||

For Galio you have to be either out of taunt range, cleanse out of it, or have something like Bear Stance/Decisive Strike which a good Galio will just wait for it to be used. | ||

I had to post a pic cuz the last game I forced a 3/3 surrender after I 1v3 ace/triple kill vs Olaf+Trynd+Amumu while fighting under their north inhib turret. guy on enemy team says: "wtf that just doesn't happen in real life omg" :7 | ||

But its gotta be worth it. If they only have 1x not very threatening ap, or a few semi ap champs, sometimes it makes more sense in the flow of the game to get mr from GA+aegis. In this case vs trynd and olaf I rushed thornmail into wardens + more armor and was almost indestructable. triforce also amazing but phage is usually a lategame item for me after I've solidified my defense. At that point I usually feel I can flat out win the game by going for the guaranteed slow of mallet sooner, rather than 'winmore' with the partial slow + other awesome mods of triforce a bit later. Triforce is, however, something I've been trying to work into more builds on him tho, cuz like phage, both sheen and zeal are cheap and effective items I sometimes mess around with on morde that have situational usefulness | ||
