Wow. Just lost a game where I went legendary on Heimer, was like 12/0/8 at one point, and maxed out my item slots well before game end, because my fucking allies WOULDN'T PUSH. We finally lost when their gangblank came and killed the nexus before I could kill him (his oranges literally saved his life, it was unbelievable). In the mean time, only our rammus had any clue what he should be doing. Our Ashe was wandering around looking for red buffs or some shit.

Found out whats going on.
Current Status:
We are aware of issues some players are experiencing with game starts following the completion of games. We are actively working on the issue and have set the launcher to busy to allow us to investigate further.
Schedule maintenance 10/15/10 2am (pst)
We will be performing a server restart tonight/tomorrow morning (10/15/10) beginning at 2am (pst) and ending at 6am. Queues will be unavailable at 12:30am and no new games will be able to start at 1am.

You wanna get attack speed runes for the synergy with Phoenix and Turtle (the faster you attack, the better they are). Armor pen is pretty lame on him since you probably won't ever "focus" a target, you'll want to run around and bear stance stun everyone in range (by priority of their danger to your team).
When jungling, you honestly need to start at blue with Phoenix. Get your team to help scout for you and protect you from a gank. After you get blue, you should be really safe.
For items, you need to focus purely on tanking. Your utility in a teamfight is entirely dependent on you being an unkillable stun machine. Definitely 100% go for Randuin's Omen, Banshee's Veil, and Merc Treads. That's your core item set.
Getting there I like to build 2 Heart of Gold as early as possible, but occasionally I'll build HoG --> Treads if I feel I need the CC reduction or MR early. Getting 2 really early HoG is a big deal, especially in games where you're not free to clear jungle all the time (doing damage control or counter-jungling).
Against magic damage heavy teams, be sure to 100% grab Force of Nature. It will make you very scary. Sunfire Capes are pretty decent since you will be running among the other team quite often. Just stack tank items until you can go wherever you want with no fear. If your team is failing at killing things, consider building a Trinity Force, but you should be able to provide them with an advantage in teamfights enough for that to be unnecessary.
